That'd be me.... Gonna hijack your thread for a bit eva ...

Here's the growing list of things in my collection:
    1 x 2.4c
    2 x 2.6c
    1 x XP 1700+
    1 x IC7-Max3
    1 x IC7-G
    1 x cracked 9700pro core from waterblock
    2 x 9800pro (1 brought back to life)
    1 x 9800XT (brought back to life)
    1 x Enermax 350w PSU
    1 x Antec 550w TruPower
    1 x ToPower 520w

That's alll I can remember as of now, will edit my list when I get the chance ...

    Back On Topic:
I can't catch ya eva2000, that 2mb cache is too much... Plus this X800Pro VIVO (w/ 16 pipelines) ain't as good an OCer as my dead X800Pro...

Best I can do is 13,922 3DMarks.... Can't seem to break the 14K barrier atm.... I'll be back though, my system is stable at 275fsb atm, maybe I can squeeze the extra out of them...

    Cheers,
    Minnyboy

edit: hey eva2000, how would that TT Giant III you have compared to the VGA Silencer (new one of course)??

    ouch all that dead hardware

you'd probably break 14k if you used 2x 512MB BH-5 even if you lowered your fsb in 5:4 mode

    with my 2.8C

    @ 280fsb 5:4 with 2x 256MB BH-5 @ 224mhz 2-2-2-6 = 13,087 3dmark2003

    @ 268fs 5:4 with 2x 512MB BH-5 @ 214mhz 2-2-2-6 = 13,079

both at same Gecube X800Pro @ 564/605 IIRC

edit: no idea how it compares with VGA silencer rev3 but all i can say is handle the Giant3 heatsink carefully there are sharp edges! I nearly cut my left finger this time when handling the card for the above piccies! :o LOL

for P4 865/875 boards having 2x 512MB yields more unbuffered (real) bandwidth than 2x 256MB at same speed, timings and even at lower mhz depending how much difference in speed)

Now how's about jacking up the fsb on that P4EE & keeping the same clocks on your VC??

I can see some 14.5K or more comin' on...

My 2 x 512MB don't like dividers at allhaven't tried giving them more than 3.4v/1.7vtt... Suckers won't do much past 200mhz if I'm using dividers & tight timings...

Now if they could even do 216mhz at tight timings 5:4, I'd break 14K, no sweat...

kromosto, IIRC, running memtest & AIDA32 with 2 x 512MB yeilded much higher bandwith at the same mhz.

    Even running 512's @ 240mhz against 256's 250mhz & I get a lot more bandwith (reported by Memtest86+)...

    It was somethin like 3100+ for the 512 @ 240mhz & something like 3000+ for the 256's @ 250mhz...

/wonders if some 2 x 512MB XL are callin' me name...

expensive addiction this, gonna stop soon... After I get ready for a 64bit future, that is...

Cheers & GL with your rise to the top of the charts eva2000,

Hey eva2000, come to think of it, I'm not that far off your score considering you got a P4EE & higher clocks on you x800 compared to my "normal" P4 (albeit higher clocked) & lower clocked but 4 extra pipes VC...

When I do get off my a$$ & get a 3D03 license, I'll probably be in the top 40 or clocse to that as well. Especially for P4 rigs.

well 3.2EE gives me an extra 800-1000pts in 3dmark2003 compared to similar clocked P4 northy

X800XT gives 800-1000pts more in 3dmark2003 compared to X800Pro at same clocks

    so it evens it out

if i grabbed an X800XT i'd be in 15k territory

Just playing with some prime stable cpu speeds now

    3.2EE@234fsb
    Gecube X800Pro
    475/450 = 11,502
    616/606 = 14,002

    So oc'd that's an extra 2,500 pts

eva - that dead card you linked wasnt actually because of the 16 pipe mod, it was because of the user performing the mod

    You sure got that right!!

I actually performed the mod right the first time & it booted up & still showed 12pipes so I took it out, took off the silver conductive paint & tried a bit harder & ended up with a dead card cos I tried too hard.

You could try to mod it w/out actually digging a hole in the chip itself as there are meant to be 2 ways of doing it.

One where you're just joinging the 2 dots together & is so much easier for RMA & the other where you can totally fruck your card & fruck your RMA out the windows while you're at it.

I'm off to pry my 3yr oold son from my benching rig lol. Lil' bugger & his cartoon sites. You wouldn't believe how hard it is to get him away from it lol..

He already knows which machine is "the choice" machine to be on...

    hey eva,

How's about keeping those same clocks & doing a 3DMark03 run??

I've just re-formatted my rig & am going to try again to do a run with the 4.7's...

Hopefully I'll move up the ladder a bit if all works out well...

My damn Vapo is playing up bad... The main temp sensor has kicked the bucket, I can't get it to be recognised at all.

I had to get my spare off my Vapo SE & use that instead, otherwise I'd have no good cooling to play with.

Thing is, the temp sensor that I plugged in doesn't get as cold as the original but the CPU temps are the same as before this happened. The sensor is actually stuck to the side of the evap head now, instead of a bit further up the tube like the original.

On a good note, I'll be getting my key for 3DMark03, the company I work for (an IT Company), has agreed to purchase a key for me to get the companies name on the board.

Funny thing is, None of the components are bought from the company but they'd be more than happy to be in the top 20-40 of the ORB...

So hard to try & catch you in 3DMark01SE, I'm finding it hard to get more than the score in my sig. Maybe soon I might break 27K. Should be simple enough with my components but it don't like me...

Good Luck eva2000, keep them mighty scores coming. Hopefully we'll see more & more Aussies near the top of the charts soon.

Time to make our presence felt.
    Cheers,
    Minh

thanks for 3dmark2003 the official cat 4.7 are fussy getting 0x0000008e driver related BSOD while cat 4.7beta don't at the same settings

I'll do another run of 3dmark2003 tomorrow night. Awfully tempted to get a Gecube X800Pro VIVO and softmod to X800XT but really I shouldn't spend anymore right now heh

But i can tell you I might get to play with some serious cpu power soon so who knows

    Hey eva2000,

Just did a couple of 3DMark03 runs with the 4.7's.

Highest I got was 14,986 w/out any volt mods to my card...

    Not bad for just H20.

I think the only way to squeeze some more out is with some mods. Was trying to do the pencil mod but can't bl00dy find a 2B pencil around here...

Tried with a HB pencil & got nowhere... Not even a measly .1v... Same ol' 1.41v no matter how many times I penciled the lead in... DAMMIT!!

Need steady hands to do proper vmod soon as... Hoping to get it done later 2day.

    So without further ado:

nice Minnyboy, seems X800XT is what's needed to boost GT2 scores closer to 15k mark

Personally, decided to enjoy my Gecube X800Pro with my new NFSU game hehe

I got NFSU from Pizza Hut's Meal Deal special (2 large pizzas + 1 PC game for AUD$39.95 = US$28.80)

My 2 fav cars i use

I've had NFSU for a while now...

Only just got started on the thing & then lent my CD's to my mate...

Been over 2 months now & haven't got the CD's back.

Needless to say, I've done that many reformats since then * am missing the game sorely.

Have always been a car game freak . Gotta survive with Gran Turismo 3, GT3: Concepts & the new GT4: Prologue on PS2 while I wait for NFSU to come back.

Even though I prefer GT3 to NFSU, there's no beating 9800XT/X800XT POWER for the graphics...

Oh well, going back to UT2004, WarCraft III for a few days til I get some mods done.

Will have a valid key for 3DMark03 before the week's done so be expecting a "newcomer" to burst onto the scene, hopefully in the top 20.

    Cheers,

Good to see you back benching again...

    Beta 4.8's I see.

Haven't been beching a lot for a while... My son kicks me off th PC all the time lol...

Vapo is in pieces & I'm still trying to find the "right" X800Pro (X800XT)...

Might give it another shot again soon with a Sapphire X800Pro (X800XT) soon.

Trying to beat 15.5k... Also been busy at work...

Nice scores there. I think there's more to be had with your rig there mate.

/now to find a way to pry my son away from his Cartoon Network games lol
    Cheers,
    Minh
