Make your own UV Dye, And make it any color.

Most of you might already know this, but here you go.

Get a skinny good brand highlighter and pull out inside. Cut a slit down it and place into a quart of distilled water for one hour.
Then pull out cotton or the left over fabric.

Then let it sit for 24 hour before using.

Then take another quart container(powerade bottle) and fill 3/4 with distilled water. Then add about 5 or 10% of the orginal mixture of dye into the quart of distilled water.

Keep the orignal mixture for later batches. Just remember to cut it later with distilled water.

It is super bright and during the day its clear. Thats the cut mixture. The orignal of course is much stronger.

Here is a pic of the made solution before you cut it.

Poor mans UV Dye. Wow is that stuff bright.

    Any one tried this??

    Brain fart:

Does UV stuff glow in the dark, or under blacklights?

I have seen white powder build up in my tubes WITHOUT using any type of UV dye. It was coming from the Rad. Cleaned it out with Mr. Clean mixture.

I have finally ended up going to Checker auto parts and got some UV Radiator testing Dye for $4. It glows very good with only 3 drops. Best stuff yet.

I'v considered that a few times but I thought it cost a lot more ($20+). What does it look like with no UV on it, Clear? Also, If 3 drops will do it sounds like I'll need about 6-10 to make mine look radioactive you think?

At Checker it was $4.(2 bottles) At NAPA its $2.50 for one bottle.
I went to checker, it was closer. Im in Phoenix, az.

Without uv light it is very green, thats the UV Radiator dye from Checker.

Now the highlighter dye I was making is clear during the day/without uv light.

Im not sure if Highlighter dye will affect pump mag drive drive or not. Im going with the UV Radiatir dye for now.

Thinks thats cool I got mine color changing, Mine turned from yellow to brown in a day. .

I'v read it's cause I have the Swiftech pump in there sideways and thats not good for the pump. I think it gets air in it and vibrates itself apart.

Your rad has everything to do with UV dye changing.
Im using a Dtek rad and UV dye always turns very fast to a non glowing state.
I have ordered a Maxxpert, will try that.
I think a copper tubing rad is the key for UV dye.
