Für die deutschen Leser die diesen Thread gefunden haben:
    Hier bei 3DCenter:
    http://www.forum-3dcenter.org/vbulle...hreadid=151512

Tomorrow I'll be getting a Clubd 3D X800 Pro ViVo.

Hope this ain't the first one which doesn't work.

But at the time 10-15 have done it successfully, so I don't really care.
The only one with a ViVo and 16 pipes not working is Codeman05.

Let's have a look who's done it succesfully:

    Sapphire X800 Pro ViVo:
    1. Inbusch (hardwareluxx.de, he got the idea first!)
    2. asus (hardwareluxx.de)
    3. Slater (hardwareluxx.de)
    4. Klauser54 (3DCenter.de)
    5. a guest (3DCenter.de)
    6. Gilhooley (rage3d.com)
    7. Hailstone (rage3d.com)
    8. Hoschi (xtremesystems.org)
    9. Tobd (xtremesystems.org)
    10. Stinger (xtremesystems.org)
    11. W1zzard
    12. edaten (pcunleash.com)
    13. nO}{8 (pcunleash.com)
    14. ozMike (pcunleash.com)

    Club 3D X800 Pro ViVo:
    1. neosho
    2. ecksmen
    3. Stinger tommorow
    4. me tommorow

    Update:
Codeman was successful too - 100% success!

    I forgot to mention:

some of those people had to reduce their clocks to get it working!

Flashing the old Sapphire X800 XT bios will help overclocking and still let you keep your 16 pipes active.
It is even possible to flash your old backup bios, this won't override the 16 pipes-setting.

I made some test yesterday on a vivo and normal pro card and these are the results:

    - vivo cards with AD chipset and 4A50 Asic code are real XT cards locked in bios. With the gigabyte bios you can enable 16 pipes without any trouble. You must use gigabyte flash program.

    - pro cards with AA chipset and 4A49 Asic code for the moment don't work even with pins connected (hardmod) and gigabyte XT bios.

I think on pro cards there are now 3 levels of protection:

    - an hardware lock due to lasercut (conductive paint can unlock)

    - a bios lock (gigabyte bios will unlock)

    - a driver lock that interrogates Asic to obtain 4A50 code but unfortunately the pro card replies 4A49

These are my tests and thoughts.

    Any comment?

    Mao

Any x800 pro vivo in stock will have 100% success to get 16 pipes.

    On new production series...who knows?

anyone got a really fool-proof guide for this operation?

here's what i'we came up with so far...

    Make bootdisk with ie. DRDFLASH

    Make BIOS backup:
    flashrom -s 0 X800Pro_original.bin

    Flash to Gigabyte XT BIOS:
    gvf11 -P -F R80X256V_filename.F1

Make sure it witks with ATitool

    Flash to ATi XT BIOS:
    flashrom -p 0 ATIX800XT-filename.bin

    is this correct?

    ???

In 6 months there will probably be no more cards you can mod.

At this time the X800 XT will sell for equal or less the money you pay for a X800 Pro at the moment.

    Damn I'm famous

Well now I just gotta wait for my XFX 6800U to be RMA'd and I can choose which to keep.

Depends how impressed / stable this Club3D VIVO is tonight as to whether I get a straight refund on the XFX or wait it out fora bout 6 weeks for a replacement.

    It worked!

    100% sucsess..

But I wasn't able to flash over again with ATi's XT BIOS...

The flashrom version I used didn't recognize my card

And it didn't cope with the OC settings i had Redline set to.

Gonna see if i can flash it to the ATi version now

    Yeey!

Can someone post a URL to the utillity used to flash the ATI XT BIN ?
I cannot seem to find any that is working..

Marshy over at OcUK is having some problems. He's flashed with the gigabyte bios, and the 16 pipes are unlocked, and now he gets hard locks whenever he runs anything in 3D. Now that sounds like a failure, but now he needs a method on re-locking the card, and disabling the 4 pipes... ANY IDEAS?!??

Marshy/Codeman05 solved his problems, he had only to lower his clocks!

"Right we have stability using the Gigabyte "D" Pro bios with 16 pipes & pro clock speeds,I am coming round to thinking this is definitely a voltage issue , I'll report back."

He had a ViVo card with the lasercut, the only ViVo card known which has a lasercut.

But no matter, no we are at 22/22 ViVo cards successful modded...

    !!!! 100% SUCCESS RATE !!!!

@Codeman: what did I say? Lower your clock! This was SO obvious

    Hmmm.. I duno guys.
After I flashed with the two BIOS'es it seems I can't overclock at all..

It would not run stable with the OC i had before I flashed. I can't remember the exact Mhz now but i'll post back later with the details...

Has anyone else have had theese problems, and what speeds are you running on after the flash? Also what kinda app do you use for OC'ing? I use RedLine. Is this reccomended? It seems to me that RedLine is a piece of sh*t, it does not remember me clockings and sets the RAM to the max :o

Is there and BIOS settings that needs altering to get some more juice of the card? voltages etc??

I know this was alot of questions, but since this is a big breakthru we need to share our experiences.

    Cheers!

    Seems most logical way
