    Does this 266 MHz effect only come into play for 1:1 ratio

    no it's a problem when you use half multiplier .

    look at this :

    The memory divider is another thing which requires study with this motherboard. In the BIOS there are options for 200, 166, 150, 133, and 100MHz memory buses when HTT is 200MHz. These function normally, but a second divider gets introduced when the CPU is using a half-multiplier, like 7.5x. Since the memory controller is onboard the CPU, memory speed is based directly off of the CPU speed. When using a half multiplier, the RAM will behave as if the multiplier is actually the one half a step higher. The math for determining the memory speed becomes somewhat complicated. In all honesty the best course of action is to use ClockGen or CPU-Z to find the memory frequency, they have the detection method built in. Looking at the memory tab in CPU-Z which shows the divider being used is especially helpful in understanding.

    ok, i have more info :

    it's a problem when you use half multiplier AND 1:1 ratio

    this problem not exist when you use half multiplier and an asynchronous ratio

    Complicated is an overstatement. All you need to do is divide the FSB(HTT) with the multi + .5 and divide by the actuall multi.

    IE.
    280*9.5 - 280/10*9.5 = 266Mhz

    or

    300*7.5 - 300/8*7,5 = 281Mhz

    CPU-Z does not show the ram-speed correct when using half multis, nor does Clockgen.

    Atleast not here with the newest versions..

    thanks, now its clear
    so 1:1 uses integral memory dividers

    for me it doesnt matter anyway since I have to use the 166 ratio (mem is limited to 267 MHz @ 3.6V)

    I tried setting the voltage in mbm settings to 'GA-8KNXP' for my k8n mbm now reads my 5v as 5.06. My 12v reading also went up a bit.

    Still plenty of headroom imho. Board is completely stock. WIll be doing mods soon!

    Heres my new mem chip looking good Its a HyperX PC3000, do you know if its a BH5 or BH6 ?
    Running in 2.5-2-2-5, I cant run CL2 if i use 1:1.. just if i use 200mhz option in BIOS btw.

    Stable? It was.. now its acting up on me. It refuses to run nature in 01 at more than 2650. I also suspect my AN50R to be the sinner here, cause I can no longer run 270HTT with 2.5LTD. Have to run 2x.

    The stock vDimm voltages on the Shuttle is; 2,6v, 2,7v, 2,8v and 2,9v...
    The vCore is from someplace under 1v to 1,7v and the vdd I can't remember - but it is something like max 1,8v or so...
