Hey im running the Gigabyte k8n (non PRO and non XP).
Im still running with the "stock" BIOS, because i haven't read about them too much. Is there a BIOS availeble wich improves performance?

Pejsen you can use lower multis and chaneg them in the bios instead of crappy clockgen and doing it time you boot by flashing the gigabyte ga-k8nnxp-940 biosit works without a hitch!
hey can someone link me to the k8npro vmod

thx for the help, i will defenently load new BIOS tomorrow
As for the Vcore mod: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...threadid=20190
Very easy mod, indeed. I used a grabber on the IC pin10 and used the one of the motherboard "mountingholes" as GND (ground).
Notice that u should set Vcore at AUTO in BIOS or else u will risk loosing your CPU. Set the VR @ 50K ohms and turn slowly too increase the Vcore, please note that you should be carefull, at a certain point voltage grows ekstremly fast, so first time i tried i ended at 2.05Vcore HEHE. :e
However the K8N has an internal safety-thing that automaticly shuts down the board when Vcore is over 2.1V - been there, done that![]()
Ps. sorry for bad english
cpulloverclock...
You are one wild and crazy guy with those voltages. Even
with a Vapo.
You have the Fire Department standing by with a Hook &
Ladder crew?
I read somewhere a while back.... that if a guy will leave the
FSB set at 201 in BIOS the AGP/PCI will remain locked while
using Clock/Gen. At least above 200 which is default.
I found out this works for me as the first time I tried Clock/Gen
I had to go back into BIOS and make the change to get a lock.
This is with a Shuttle AN50R but I don't see why it wouldn't
be the same for any nForce3 150 board.

Did I do good![]()

Guys what you think of this overclock? It`s done on air with a TT Venus 12 @ 3500RPM and 19C ambient air temp. No-matter what I do I can`t get over 2500 out of it even at 1.95v. Do you think if I phase change it`ll be a good clocker?
See steppings in my sig!

My 3200+ won't go anywhere near 2400mhz, could you tell me what psu your using and what volts the rails are reading?
According to the manufacturers of MB, the Socket 939 (MB and Proc) would be available at the end of may or at the beginning of june= ESTIMATE

Guess i got a bad chip and you got a good one then! Our rigs are very similar but i cannot get past 2300mhz at 1.7v![]()
Well post your steppings so we can have a look. May be that your cooling, RAM or even PSU is holding you back and not the chip...always the optemist

However my cooling stock hs with 120mm ys tech 45C full load, ram kingston pc3000, psu is hiper 350watt, it seems to fluctuate and i thought that might be what it was but if yours is ok with a bad psu it might not be the problem.
i think it's bad because you'd better decrease mutiplier ; and increase FSB , if your sticks don't support 255mhz, increase vddr to 3,3v (easy with AN50R) and pump up the FSB !!Originally posted by K32A

9X255 FSB 1:1 would be very easy and much better.
8X287 FSB 1:1 a little higher , i think ; but if you'll do it ; i'll applause you![]()
