Thumbs up NOW THIS IS FAST !!!!!!! A64 @ 2.74ghz

OMG this thing is fast !! I'm using a R7500 aiw right now until I get my vapo PE on my R9800pro so not doing any 3d benches right now. Also I don't think its my processor that is craping out above 2.8ghz I think its the agp/pci bus.

You can't compare Intel and AMD bandwidth unless its an FX51. That A64 is single channel.

    Thanks guys !

Jason I'm running it at 5:3 divider ! I don't have any ram that I can use 1:1 right now.

I took the IHS off today, but didn't notice any improvement in temps. But then again I did the Vcore mod and upped the Vcore to 1.75v so its hard to compare.

Charlie I get the same N/A in Sandra 2004

Tomorrow Vapo PE goes on R9800pro, and I have a FX5900 coming tomorrow too so should be a fun filled week !

Heres a tip for those of you getting an N/A in the Sandra 2004 Memory bench:

Hit the refresh button at the bottom of the window, it should run and complete the bench displaying bandwidth figures as usual.

    Ahh cmon major....answer mickeys question!!!
How did you get over 260 on the Asus??

Also...since you didnt seem to have any problems leaving the IHS on with the prommy....I am trying to figure out what happened to mine. Did you put dielectric grease all in the socket??
If not, I am wondering if I just tightined down the plastic bracket to tight or something....

    Excellent job Major.

I have a funny story for you. I went to a computer show today and was talking with a guy about the new A64 CPU's. He said that he read about a guy who overclocked his A64 to 5 GHz!!! I asked what type cooling the guy was using, and he said the guy did it on water cooling. So it looks like you have a long way to go to reach 5 GHz.

I wish I had some ram that would do 260mhz + 1:1 on this board, but I'm pretty content with it at 5:3 right now. I've just got to figure out whats next to get past 2.8ghz. More Vcore doesn't help, lower HT to 600, 400, or even 200 didn't help. I guess I could try lowering my timmings on the ram, but it passes memtest without a hitch so I don't think thats it. Maybe LDT Vmod ?

    Nice clocks Major!
Whats your Bootup FSB set to? 260 or 261?
And can you go up to 274 if you boot up at say 252?

Jason, the new Clockgen version is how Major got the K8V past 260

    no more 260 limit
