i dont think he's expecting too much. Here's my standards for a "GOOD" dual core

    2.6 on stock volts
    2.7 on 1.4 volts
    2.8 on 1.5 volts
    2.85 max

and one that we would want would be something better than just good, it would be very good. Very good is

2.75 on stock volts, 2.85 on 1.45 volts, 2.95 with 1.55 volts, 3 Ghz benching

I keep tellin' ya, try it out. A lot of the time a single pin doesn't affect it at all. And it can always be soldered back on. All is not lost!

Whoa, that's a huge discrepancy from the voltage your mobo software reads and cpu-z. Either way, it's still very nice- What step?

Yeah, its because of the ASUS motherboard (A8N32). I've found that the correct way to read the CPU-Z read out is to add .2V since my base voltage is 1.275 with the overvolt option enabled (therefore 1.275 + .2). By the way, does anyone else have the 2x1Gb Mushkin Redline XP4000? I need help with some of the RAM tweaking. The stepping on the CPU is:

i would say he is using an asus a8n32-sli board. cpuz does not reflect the overvolt option when enabled. hence the discrepancy

    2500Mhz 1.536v semi stable
2600Mhz 1.536v it just boots into windows

all this on a TT XP-90 with panaflow highspeed fan and 35c outside temps, it's summer here

Hey, if the system locks up without getting an error, it usually implies a voltage shortage.

I have gone through this before. Prime for a bit and system freezes as soon as i stop priming. I think it's because of the way the mobo/PSU handle the power, after you end the load the voltage spikes downward for a sec and (probably) prompts the freeze.
