I tried the pencil. increased another 0.2-0.3v on the mch. get my mobo from 420 to 450x7 prime stable. i tried clockgen to 470 but not stable.

other people have gotten new BIOS chips from them, so maybe try again with a new person and stress that even though their board says it is compatible with conroe, that it doesnt ship with the BIOS required for that compatibility...

Oh and about prepping the motherboard, is a computer desk (wood) an anti-static area, i say this because some people said about the outside of the bag being where the static is

I just called them and they said no problem on sending a newer bios chip! I would have to pay the shipping if I want it tomarrow or wait for 3 to 5 days for it! I chose the ground and got it free!!!! I have to get the mobo tonight and prep it anyways. So I'll wait for it like everything else! Atleast I have my E6700 and mobo in hand! Well tonight I

What did they ask when u wanted a new chip? and how much was shipping for the overnight?
I would hate to get my mobo and then have to wait longer for a chip, so i was thinking of calling in and acting like it wont work just so I have a chip when my mobo comes

I just said the truth! I'm buying a mobo tonight the p5w dh and was told that they can not see what bios it comes with and I do not have another cpu to flash the bios with to make my E6700 work! So all she did was ask for my address and told me the deal about the overnight. I did not ask the price because I was not interested.

Well if it doesnt work, your only other option is to either buy/borrow another socket 775 CPU, and then flash the BIOS from there

Also it probably doesnt need to be stated but, sufficient cooling to the mch might prevent flames leaping from m/b at 1.85v

I wonder too if anyone's tried it yet... I don't have my Conroe yet so I can't even think of doing so, but I'm excited about this BIOS!

brilliant, now someonemod the latest beta, the 1101 orwhatever it was called..

edit: Oh and cheers Haltech mate, how did you manage to get ahold of that? Any ideas what app they used to mod it? AMIBCP just crashes when I try to open any recent ami bioses with it..
