Even though I already bought my E6400 at TigerDirect last week, I figured they need to know that they fuc*ed up.

I'm actually buying most of my other components from NewEgg (heatsink, RAM, PSU, video card), and I've been buying from NewEgg for a long time now (I even have a NewEgg t-shirt!).

    Here's how my chat went.

My name is Lan. How may I assist you today?
    Core2Duo: Hi
Core2Duo: I'm a long time NewEgg customer and I trust Newegg's shipping and pricing
Lan: Ok, what is the question?
Core2Duo: Well, I found today that NewEgg is selling the Core 2 Duos for $100-$150 more than other retailers and I'm wondering why that is?
Core2Duo: is there something extra or special included? Like maybe a motherboard?
Core2Duo: Yeah that must be it, it comes with a motherboard right?
    Core2Duo: item #N82E16819115004
Lan: Unfortunately, we are not the ones to decide on the price. I would not know why the price is more than other stores. The price stated is how much it would be.
Core2Duo: Unfortunately I just can't justify paying $100-$150 more for the exact same product when I can buy it at another retailer
Core2Duo: So there's got be an extra special bonus included right?
Core2Duo: Like X-ray glasses or a cool ring or maybe even a toy?
Core2Duo: Can I please select my toy from an array of choices or does NewEgg select one for me?
    Core2Duo: For $100, I hope it's a cool toy, like a transformer or something.
    Core2Duo: that would make sense
    Core2Duo: otherwise I just don't get it
    Core2Duo: Unless its a mistake
Core2Duo: You may want to inform your supervisors about this
Lan: Yes, I will attention that to my supervisor.
Lan: Thank you for bringing that to my attention.
Core2Duo: Thank you, and please have an EGGcellent day
    Lan: Yes.

I did live chat also to day with a newegg rep named "scott"
he told me the reason for newegg being higher than other online retailers is
newegg is smaller company and does not get the high volume discounts that bigger onliner retailers do... lol that is some major bs...
I gave him links to other online retailers and links to couple of forums..
He just left after that.. I wish I would have saved that chat to post here..
We need to do a article and put on the front page on how newegg ripps people off on hot products.. We need to stand up to their bs..

I bought it at this price. Plus if they lower it anymore I am going to go back into the store and get the lower price within 30 days.

You know what you really need to do is post it at places where the "average joe" consumer (those that build their own PCs that is) is likely to read about it. Preaching about it to higher end enthusiasts is doing nothing but preaching to the choir.

Please wait while we connect you to a Newegg representative. You are number 1 in the queue.
Thank you for contacting Newegg. My name is Scott. How may I assist you today?
    Haltech: hello scoot
Haltech: im kind of curious about the Core2Duo pricing? monarch, Zipzoomfly and many other etailers are selling the chip for $100-$200 less. why the price gouging?
Haltech: im surei intel would love to know about this
    Haltech: scoot, are you there?
Haltech: do i get free memory or something with that price?
    Haltech: scoot?
Haltech: this thing is supposed to say live chat dude

While this is all funny, I'd leave the poor CS people alone. They don't set the pricing, and I'm sure they are getting tired of catching all the flak I'm sure newegg is well aware of thier pricing schedules, so harrassing the poor live chat people won't help too much

I'd buy one, but I looked at Resellerratings.. and Microcenter SUCKS apparently. I'd order if I could physically pick it up, but they have no locations in Arizona.

It seems most of the problems stemmed from cancelled orders (by them), and shipping.

Harassing the CSR's isn't even funny. They're probably part of some larger call center in India with little influence.

Vote with your pocketbooks and buy elsewhere. Or do some reserach and get to a management level at Newegg.

I did a simple google search and came up with these names:

    Howard Tong - VP
    Fred Chang - CEO

Try: howard.tong@newegg.com or howard_tong@newegg.com or htong@newegg.com. Same thing for Fred.

I remember tech support about 10 years ago. We were supposed to get the customer to work with us with their problems if they "only" wanted to talk to a manager. If it were legit I'd get them through or help them. People that were being an a$$ would get hung up on. Put them on hold and look through my notes. "Ok sir/maam her is my ... <click>." I don't tolerate people that don't show respect to others. Even if its towards someone else other than myself.

Thankfully I'm lucky enough that if the client is not giving us respect the company will terminate their contract and I don't have to deal with it.
