X1800XL results, '01 '03 & '05
Just unboxed this tonight.

First impressions, this is a big card, heavy too. I started with a fresh XP install, ran all three Futuremark tests starting with default settings on FX-57 & card. 1024x768 for clarity. In the '05 cap you can see W1zzards Beta of ATI Tool which has core voltage adjustment working. Nice job W1zzard.

Next I overclocked the FX to 3.57Ghz and maxed the card in Control Center which happens to be 575/550 up from the default 500/500 factory clocks. Here's what happened.

The negatives:
This card runs very hot, 83° on stock fan speeds. Running 100% fan speed lowered the core to 53°, 57° loaded. I'm also seeing some odd flickering and momentary black screening. I hope that turns out to be a driver issue. Cat 5.10 will not run on this, I'm on the shipping Beta's. Also as of this moment there is no way to overclock this card the way I want, only the meager clocks you can set via Control Center.
Overall a very nice card, you can see the power of the new architecture in these lowly clocks. Given a real overclocking utility, the ability to control voltage via software, and Ram rated at 700Mhz this should be a pretty fun card.
Next stop, the XT
