I(we) have tested some more mobos and some older ones as well(forgot to upload those)......I'll update the compatibility list any time soon.....After we have the Maxi finished (not to take time from our day), I'll test different mobos for you.....or you can ask for a mobo to be tested and if it's available, we could test it for you so as to be sure about it.....
EDIT: You may see a small * on some "incompatible" mobos of this list.....These will be the mobos which with a small mod are working with the Maxi.......One desolder of a coil for example......![]()

Don't worry, there are a lot of people out there still with DDR......and don't forget that we have DDR2 AND DDR3, so I think that we'll do OK......we'll see....![]()

hey Hipro, do you still have your original list of people who wanted one of these? I believe I should be pretty close to the top if you do.![]()

Yes I have it.......I believe that they must be all in there, except if with the "ups and downs" of the XS forums, lost some PMs.....Originally Posted by EnJoY

your right. it is definately still very useful. I just thought maybe more in the heyday of high voltages.Originally Posted by hipro5

If double sided my ram-cooling won't fit... even the smallest part can make it not fit.

It's double sided......by "double sided" we mean that the PCB has two sides of cooper (lines)......On this PCB the one side is "ground" (full of cooper) and the other side is where the components are soldered on......ONLY one side has componens on.....Originally Posted by SMa

hipro5,
a while ago you said some parts on the P5WD2 could burn trough with the maximizer.
But at what vmem would that happen?
if i recall he said there is a simple mod that would fix the asus, as i understand it, the way the vdimm circuit is set up will burn the ddr supply mosfets regardless of voltage.
You can unsolder the coil of the Vdimm and then you're free to add the Maximizer without any fear at all.....Simple as that and you'll burn nothing on the mobo by this way.....Originally Posted by SMa
.....and afterwords if you want to use the mobo without the Maxi, you resolder back this coil and you're ready......No harm at all.....
EDIT: I would like to add - generaly speaking - that there is NO MOTHERBOARD out there that could work OVERCLOCKED with 4 x 1GB dimms at high frequencies.....One reason is that the IMC or the Northbridge can't handle that - accualy they could do better - AND the second reason and the MOST serius, is that when they design the motherboards, they add tiny Mos-Fets on the output of the Vdimm voltage (about 40Watts -peak 80W- )......By adding 4 x 1GB modules you're OK UNLESS you're not going to overclock them by MUCH.....The modules might have a LOT of pottential to overclocking BUT the Vdimm of the mobos just CAN'T handle the load and they fail......Of caurce the user thinks that the modules can't go higher......BEEPPPP...Wrong......They can go higher that that BUT they've got NO more power to do so.......Motherboard's Vdimm circuit fails to feed them, so the Ram modules fail too......
![]()
You can SIMPLY mod your mobo so as to work WITH the DDR Maximizer and with 4 X 1GB modules ALSO.....By this way, there will be no reason not to find the max of your 4 x 1GB modules......The Maxi could provide you clean and stable Vdimm up to REAL 130Watts of power and 160Watts peak......![]()

sounds fun
each maxi comes with either ddr1 or ddr2 kit, right? can the be changed on the fly without soldering whatsovever? can i just buy 2nd kit and swap them?
