    Hi FCG and everyone,

    All mods pics are here:
    http://www.oohashi.jp/c-board/c-boar...ne;no=4533;id=
But my server(router) often down, so you may pick up these pics and re-host them, please
BTW, Vfsb-mod is almost needless, I think

Hi peeps. I bought one of these boards today and i am having 2 issues.
    1. I can't work out how to have my 74GB raptor as OS and my 2 Raid-0 HDD's working at the same time, as this is a very confusing board.

    2. My temps in bios are 74c celeron D 346 at stock, in windows 51c idle.

Can some one please let me know how to have raid and a single drive working at the same time?.

some one told me to make boot floppy's !!!

I have installed fresh windows on the raptor with this board, and i want to get my raid drives working as they have all my backup stuff from when i had AMD/DFI SLI Venus.

EDIT: Just reread your request and i got the wrong idea, will leave the description i wrote as may help others...

    Your drive issue as follows...
    1. Plug all three hard drives into the Southbridge sata slots
    2. Enable raid in the bios
    3. The Raptor will still work even though not raided
    4. Create an array on your other two drives.

NB: You will not get your data from the DFI created array, it will not be readable with the Intel Raid Array. You will have to back up the data. create a new array and then restore it i'm afraid.
The NF array and Intel array are not cross compatable.

This is how to get 2 x raid arrays at same time...

Ok - this tool me ages to work out
The Raid via the Southbridge consists of three sata slots, there are then two aditional sata headers in orange.
    1. Plug your main raid array into two of the Southbridge headers and enable raid in the IDE setup via bios
    2. Plug your other raid drives into the EZ-raid (other 2 orange slots).
    3. Warning (you will loose the data on the EZ-Array if you do the next step)
    4. When re-booting setup the first raid array using ctrl+z
    5. Assuming you want the EZ array to be raid 0... change the jumper on the mobo as per the EZ-backup manual section
    6. Go into bios and select the change EZ-backup array (read manual)
    7. Reboot
    8. You should now have both raid arrays, although you will not see the EZ array until in windows

    Clear as mud i hope

Thanks that is very clear. it is a shame that i have to delete/loose 400GB of data as i have no way of backing it up. I will see if there is a way before i take the hard road. i have tried what you described but didn't want to recreate the array as i was too scared of loosing my data. If loosing data is the only way i will never use raid for storage again as it seems to be a real pain in the royal but. Starting to wish i didn't get this motherboard now. maybe i should of keept my dfi 975x infinity.

    Thanks for the help.

Raid is good, unless you are changing Chipset makers...
Also, why use raid for data store unless its Raid 1 for security. Its the OS that gets the performance benifit on raid 0

I have my OS and all my work / development systems on 2x 150GB raptors in raid 0 for speed. My data could sit on normal disks as the files do not need to be read at great speed.

Is a 50k VR trimmer necessary for the vdroop? I used a 30+1K trimmer on my P5WD2 Premium and although it gave .07v over what I set it in BIOS it worked quite well. I guess what I'm trying to ask here is if it's O.K. to use the same 30+1K trimmer on the P5W DH Deluxe?? Thanks.

Thank you very much. I"ll never execute such operations with my motherboard, nor taking out the BIOS chip, although I take into consideration that my new P5W DH DLX will come with an early BIOS version and I'll need to borrow a alternative LGA 775 CPU in order to update.
Do you have any idea about the BIOS version of the latest boards.

    Thanks.

    More Details on Vmch mod

    Cable,

Can you give a few details on how to do the Vmch mod? I have seen the pictures, but since I have not done a motherboard mod like this some more detailed information would be great. I just want to know what I am doing so I do not bork my new board...

    Thanks!

I think that since the current shipping version of the asus p5wdh bios was 502, and it dioes NOT post on Conroe reatil B2 chips (at least the 6800 ver verified), that Asus may be scrabling to install 701 bioses in whatever boards are still under their roof. I'd say that was a little late as far as I'm concerned, $65 celeron later.

@FCG - see, this right here is what I was talking about when I said I understood the contribution you make to this community. Thanks.

    Ok, who offers mod services?

I can't solder for crap but my friend who can says he can't understand the photos enough to feel comfortable about it (he doesn't overclock, just an average user that's into electronics).
