Mine gets to 61c under prime small fft with Xigmatek. You ciould probably drop the temp a bit if you lap the TRUE.

Since I spend most of my time working on phenom systems, I never really took the time to see how good my Q9450 clock was. I have 8x483=3864 right now doing WCG with 1.23v at load. Last time I tried, anything from 490 and above would not load into windows. This is also on the Rampage Formula.
Not much to say right now.

Thus far, my all-volts-auto 24/7 setup is at 3.2GHz. Just got it though, so I've yet to put it to its limit I think. But 3.7GHz stable so far, under a TRUE.

well my chip seems to give me the wrong temsp lol, realtemps are all over the place, but the highest core stays at around 65-66c under small fft load with prime.

this is with my p5q-e and my q9450 running at 8x488= 3904mhz, my chips seems to be really good when it comes to voltages, I am running those clocks at 1.31v loaded, and testing prime right now, I have had it prime stable at 3.7 with 1.225v loaded.

I really like my temps at those speeds, and ofcourse its summer and my room is air conditioned and room temps is 74f.

I gave it a little extra volts and might lower it one notch, first it all depends if it is stable at these setting or not.

Red face Q9300 stuck at FSB 440

    Hi people,

I know this thread is about the 9450s, but I'm having trouble to find threads about the 9300. And since the CPUs are rather similar....

I've had by Q9300 C1 for two months now...and I am kind of stuck at FSB 440, and I am too stubborn to believe that I just caught a crappy chip.
FSB 450 lets me only see the Windows bootscreen before it locks up.

    Specs:
Maximus Formula 1.03G board with Rampage 0403 board

    LLC: Enabled
    Core: 1.30V
    FSB Term: 1.38V
    NB Volt: 1.61V
    PLL: 1.50
CPU GTL Ref: tried Auto, 0.62, 0.63

    Any suggestions?

It's not a crappy chip, it's the Maximus and P5E boards. They don't seem to handle C1 quads past 440FSB.

Well, what do the newer boards differently? Separate GTL Ref. settings for each core to circumvent the electrical differences between both dice?

    Or a basic design flaw...?

I actually did not intend to buy any more S775 boards until the Nehalems are coming.

I just got a new P5Q Deluxe and I run Prime95 (small FFT) for 4hrs at 425x8 (3.4GHz) on my 9450. I shut down and leave for the afternoon, come back for dinner and fire up Prime95 again it runs for like 2 minutes then my system rebooted. I forgot and left it on blend instead of small fft. I thought small fft was suppose to be a more stressful test than blend? Is prime95 buggy? (using v25.6 x64)

I also ran memtest86+ v2.01 for 2 full passes with no issues.

small ffts test cpu, while as blend test both ram and cpu stability. If blend fails, and the small ffts passes without problems, then the ram is not completely stable. You should reun memtest for 8 to 12 hrs.

Ok I have a really dumb (read: ot) question. My rig (mobo and cpu) just fried. I went back about 2 months in this thread and have read pretty much every post since and I've finally decided to jump from my dead e6600 etc to a 9450, p5q deluxe and 4g of ocz plat pc8000. um... XP only supports 2 cpus, right? So I am forced to Vista? Or am I hallucinating here late at night.

edit: And does it matter if I get the p5q deluxe or p5q-e as far as overclocking goes?

and again: Is there a reason to get or not get the 64 bit version of vista... and does 'ultimate' matter? I seem to recall hearing about some driver issues along those lines.

It's an X38 flaw. Some people have had some luck with them, but most people have found that X38 and 45nm quads are a bad match.

Good choices. You'll have the exact same set-up as me.

XP (Pro) is limited to two physical CPU's, but is fine with a single CPU with more than two cores.

There doesn't seem to be much difference between the -E and the Deluxe, other than the Deluxe probably being more able to hold a quad on it's limit due to the better power set-up.

Personally I've no issues with x64 Vista Home Premium. Ultimate is a waste of money IMO.

Hi guys, I've been having a really tough time overclocking. I posted a couple posts back that I was having trouble getting 3.2Ghz stable... and I still am. I can't find any settings that will work. I made a new spreadsheet of runs that I've been doing. http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?k...OJRG-9Bg&hl=en and this is the previous: http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?k...LxAFs1HA&hl=en I'm getting really frustrated now and I think either I'm missing something major, or something else is bad. I really need some advice. I'm tried upping vcc, nb, sb, ht, vtt, and I get errors within an hour. I don't know what to do anymore. Please help.

I keep reading all these posts of people getting to 3.2 with no problem and with stock voltages and all I've been getting is crap.
