I have one Q6600 rig that is running hotter than normal, I need to pull the WB and check the mount. I might give the 7C a try again.

    Happy new Year all,
Final results. OCAU of the 44 who tested Approximately 80% saw a positive result with an overall average improvement of 3.28C. The 20% who did not from our previous Contact and Pressure testing 80% of the 20% were resolved to be a contact or pressure issue that inhibited optimal results.

All in all a pretty good test run and line up well with the total group averages from the other forums.

Well I redid the Q6600 mentioned above with D7 and across the cores I saw a 1c improvement. The mount from the MX-2 looked very good with even TIM distribution. Since it is a FuZion v1 the mounting pressure is very consistent between mounts.

I wonder how much better the temps would be with the higher carat blend?

SiG, IIRC, the "higher carat" tube you are talking about is the exact same density paste, just more of it in a bigger tube. I guess you get about 7 carats worth in the little tubes we tested with, and a bit over three times more in the "24 carat" tube. Someone correct me if I'm wrong here.

Good to see you saw a difference. I'm a believer in the stuff and it is the only paste I'm using on the farm now. It has held up very well over the months that I've had the mounts from the test. I find it easy to get a good mount with, and very reliable over time. That's what I want. If the temps drop, that's just "sauce for the goose".

I put some D7 on an overclocked eVGA GTX260-216 card that I threw a water block on. Between all of that, it dropped the loaded GPUGrid temps by 30C. I about fell out of the chair....

    Regards,
    Bob

When it comes to precious stones, the term "carat" is a measure of weight currently equal to 200milligrams. On our current context, that would mean that there is 1.4grams of actual blue diamond in a seven carat package and 4.8grams of blue diamond in the 24 carat tube (along with the other gunk that makes it a paste)

Diamond 7 carat is now available in my country at a sharp price here

The website says : 'After applying the therma paste, wait a few minutes before mounting the cpu cooler '

    That's new to me ??

SiG you must have done something right, the FuZion's give me a real problem.

Congrats maybe the only one out of 6 or 7 tests that I have with a + result

    still using your product.
in addition to the 4-5C temp drops one thing I've noticed over app 7 installs is I no longer see wide temp differences between cores.
It disapates the heat evenly and that is a big plus.

The long term feedback is great, thanks Movieman

I keep hammering the long term stability aspect as a marketing/ feature point but it's a hard sell with a group that changes their heat sink more frequently than their underwear Pushing a rock uphill on that one.

I have also moved to this past full time.
I even talked a couple guys at microcenter into buying it over the ocz stuff the other day.
The sales lady said they were all about the same I started laughing, The guy was like you don't agree with her. I said not a chance. I told them all I would be more then happy to prove that the diamond past is much better if you would like me to. He was like well I think I will take some of that stuff instead.

That explains the 20% bump up in their monthly order this month - thanks littleowl

I may look for it next time I'm shopping for some. By then there may be a supplier in Auz and I may have hardware that can actually put sufficient mounting pressure on.

+1 for being hooked on IC Diamond. Don't think I can go back to anything else now I generally see a 4 C reduction on all 4 cores, keep it coming!

The long term stability is what you want to push towards the server crowd, it's EXACTLY what they want. Hobbyists just pull their rigs down too often for that to be a big thing, they want outright performance. You just need to get the hang of marketing it is all, the product is top tier.

Latest results tally - the guys at overclockers.net are giving me the highest sample/return ratio yet. Although I think XtremeSystems really put me though the wringer more than any other forum.

I'm planning on picking up a tube of this stuff soon for my new build. After reading the thread, I just wanted to confirm that on an i7 the agreed best application method is a pea size drop? Also I read mixed ideas about giving the HSF a small twist in each direction, what do you all think about the twisting?

    Thanks
