I hate to say it - but this keeps my GPU at 41 Max load at max CCC overclock...(X1900XTX)

Danger Den Maze 4 GPU block. I had to go water cooling to beat the heat...

What about Thermalright's V1 and V1 Ultra? I own both the V1 regular and the VF700 and here is what I got as far as temps:

Stock everything: Idle 47-50C Load 85-94C
    Zalman VF700 @600/1230 Idle 40C Load 67-70C
    Thermalright V1 (regular) @600/1230 Idle 37C Load <60C

After playing UT2004 for about 40 minutes the V1 did not even break 60C. Quite amazing. (By the way I used two fans on the V1 so that probably helped.)

Edit: I read about that mod on Anandtech Bull Dog. I really like what you did with that.

I had the fan mounted on the brackets(stock position) and I used my two hands. I just took it real slow and I didn't see any signs of kinking until the very end so it wasn't a problem.

if there's any truth in this comparison then the thermalright cooler would be best.

This is using the little fan on the left which is a little faster than the stock fan. The specs for the fan is 5300RPM 23.39 cfm with 38.65 dBa (I can't hear it over the case fans). The card I'm using is the 1900XT @ 729/810 with voltages of 1.500 - 2.102 - 2.086 - 1.501. With those votages the card is idling right now at 38° after I've run the bench. Obviously with the bigger fan the temps are even better but it's a beast.

with the noisy fan the temps are about 2-4° better. What are your temps with equal volts/clocks?
