Sounds gravy to me! I take it you know things that the average person doesn't in terms of programibility and functionality of this new core/mem design?

You mentioned a couple posts ago the memory being unlocked from the core. What does this mean?

    Thanks again.

Wrong, he got under 10K at stock settings. @ 600/900 he got less than Fuggers '05 score as well. And just to remind you the XL is not the correct card to compare to the new GTX, thats the job of the XT.

    where do you see that? All I see is a 7800GTX 512MB bottlenecked by a X2 3800+ at 2.4GHz.

    Hey Tank hows it goin'.

I have been playin' with an 1800XL for a little while now. Have managed to get it up to 682/1674 on air. The core on this card is not thrilled with higher Vcore though. At 1.30+ Vcore the core OC goes the wrong way even though the die temps are in the low 50C's. Haven't had the time to find where the turning point is yet.

My biggest issue now is my old 2700Mhz, 512Mb cache sledgeclaw is sticking a cork in the cards tail pipe so I am only getting 9602 in 3DM05 with the clocks above.

It will be so nice when some decent OC/voltages tools pop up cause it's a bear right now lol.

Thats great score Fugger for $370 card . 10K on air, even overclocked is realy impressive.
So did you tried one of your extreme cooling solutions on it? Why i'm asking is that i might consider new Dimond AGP XL for my dothan rig. What i'm afraid is a coldbug issue. The card will be booting -28c inside chillbox. My last version of 6800U did fine at these temps, but the one i have now only boots to safe mode and once the flick that brings your desctop when booting it frezes at these temps.
I definetly would like to try XL. I cant flash XT bios since its not PCIe board. Without good bios tools to set the card up it be a pain in the a** with it. I realy like bios flashing options with 6800's, we got allot of tools on that

I dont think those voltage tools work as they should man. Bios mod should be a way to go once you figure out a sweet spot

Very nice Fugger. Question though, when you upped your PCI-E speed did you notice it right away in tests? I tried it and upped it to PCI-E 110Mhz and I didn't get a single point incrase in at least 05. Was this mainly just a 01 benifit of doing this?

    These are my results.

Measely venice at 2.7GHz. I could get 9200+. All I need is my venice at 2.8GHz. Once I move to better cooling (current is stock with fan @ full speed), should be able to do better (10k)

ATI OCing utility worked great for me. The trick is you have to terminate all ATI processes running in the background to be able to use it.

    Also, I saw the numbers. 4400+ X2 + 7800GTX 512MB default = 96xx marks in 05.

1.316 Vcore, 2.221 Vdd and 1.885 Vddq unloaded and meter on card. The "set" voltages were higher as this cards actual voltages run well below what you set them at.

So u have to up them a bit to get the actual volts?
Did u use ATI overclocker (one found on driverheaven) for volts? I heard its slightly off on the volts.

I heard ATiTool is more accurate.

Yes and ATItools wasn't any better. It is also buggy and can not set the memory clock yet. ATI's overclocker zip is also buggy but you learn to use it after a while (just do not close and try to reopen it). The problem with ATI's tool is it will only go up to a 2.20 volt setting with XL's and you have to use ATItool to get the memory higher.

The variation in set volts versus actual volts is most likely due to tolerance in the regulators feedback circuits components and it will probably vary from card to card. Using a DVM(s) to meter the voltages while setting and running is always a good idea when you are working with a given new card for the first few times.
