This looks a lot more promising as no one has made a modified GT bios. Most people have resigned to the fact that GT cards are hardlocked. So this modified GTO bios is probably the closest thing we're gonna get to 16 pipelines.
If this doesn't work then I think I'm resigned to the fact that Club3D has done a fantastic job in duping us all. I say this because my ATItool reports that I have a R423 core, rather than the promised R480, if this is true then I really have bought into the rumours with the extra £10-15, damn you club3d!!!
Actually, can someone check ATItool for me and see what chipset it reports you as having? The fact that ATItool reports me as having a R423 core may just be ATItool reporting incorrectly, however if they truly have sold me a R423 chip then it's perfectly reasonable for me to take it back as they themselves clearly have stated on their website that the X800RX comes with a R480 core:

Also, the backplate on my card was missing a screw, which really annoyed me.

Paying 10-15£ extra for a X800GT i certainly expected a little bit more. All will be forgiven though if 16 pipelines were to be enabled

you both have r480, dont worry. atitool reads it from bios i quess.
my card is also r423 when i watch it from atitool, but physically (did i get it right)i have r480, take off your coolers if you don´t belive me
Well, if the GTO BIOS can be modified the RX BIOS might be modified too, but how? Is there a BIOS editor compatible with these new BIOSes? I tried to open the RX bios with a couple of editors but none of them worked at all. Who modified the GTO bios and how?

did some tests with haft's card .. no go on the modding .. gpu is hardware locked
i tried x850pro and x800gto bioses and i got black screen both time, i had to flash the original bios back blindly.
nuts. nice rumour though! thx for the try out w1zzard and aise. i guess we're left with hardmodding options... anyone?

The guy reckons that our GT/RX cards can only be clocked 510-513MHz stably, and I tend to agree. My HL2 crashes regularly past this level. Anyone had better luck? I'm talking stable clocks here.
The guy also claims that the three companies; Sapphire, Powercolour and HIS have exclusive rights to distribute the GT, so how did Club3D manage to get their hands on the R480s??

When i tryed to flash bios from x850XT - my card became x850XT with 8pipes... and that's all
i find interesting thing - work temperature of my overclocked videocard was about 72C, after flashing bios from x850XT - temperature raised up to 92C with 520\540MHz... what does it mean?

Just got my powercolor x800gt bravo edition, R480 for sure, 2ns samsung ddr3 ram, any choice to get a x850xt? Don't think so BTW... It'd be crazy!... I'll take photos of the core when i get my digi cam if you want...

I'm pretty sure I have 2.0ns memory. After some fiddling with ATItool I have figured out that I can only clock my memory as high as 502-503Mhz but my core can go up to something ridiculous like 580+ without artifacts. But I guess that's pretty useless as the bottleneck would still be at the memory. Just by reading these posts, am I right in saying that some of us Club3D X800RX owners have 2.0ns memory and some have 1.6ns?? I find that hard to believe.

settings for the "fan speed vs. temp table" i chanched with ATITool by myself. At 100% fan speed temperature was the same
X800GT death... WTH?!?! 2 days and it crashed... I had problems playing BF2, some artifacts like 9800se@pro showed sometimes, now it doesn't get into windows without a BSOD... Didn't WC'ed it or modded it... I don't know how can i have so bad luck...

bought the card few hours ago..already tried like 5 6 bioses no problems flashing but i still have that 8 pipes i know this can't run 16 pipes..but atleast 12 ..the card should handle it fine
in a meanwhile i attache the original bios of this x800rx
mine is 480 core and 1,6ns samsung mem
just rename it to BACKUP.rar from *.zip since i can't attach rars
