I'm having problems maintaining a stable overclock on my Neo2 at over 250HTT. I have the command rate at 1T and aggresive timing on. I'll try that out tonight and see if it will help.

    Cheers

    Ok, H20

I will try those settings tomorrow. Damn I dont understand why prime makes erros in less than 10 min at 10*240. I already tried 4x htt with 1.65 volts in cpu and it didnt work either. The only thing left is to try it with the auto settings in bios fot the cycle time.

Just received a pair of 512MB OCZ PC3700 EB today and has been doing some testing. Result is very disappointing. SuperPI failed starting at 222 HTT and I have tried most tweaks already.

That's very nice. Can you run most tests (Prime95, SuperPI, 3DMarks, etc.) error free at that speed? And what's the max without the booster?

3DMarks I can run without any problems, haven't tried with the other programs.
And I bought these memories along with the ddr booster, so I haven't used them without it.

    Hi,

H20, so what youre saying is that over 220 htt, youre pc is not stable??(either prime or superpi makes errors). Cause if its the case, youre not alone. At 218 I dont have any problems running prime but at 240 it makes errors quickly, but I know it's not the ram. I am thinking this board has alot of difficulties with the ram voltage. What fo you think?

I tried Prime95 and I get error but everything I do otherwise on my comp is stable.

But I read somewhere that Prime95 gets error if one has 1024mb in ram?

I have the same problem. I cant get my KHX PC3500 (bh-5) to run more than stock (216) it seems like my RAM is not responding to the increased voltage. if i give them 2.85v they dont wonna go further than 216 anyway. they should run 220 2-2-2-5 at 2.8 like they did it my barton system, but they cant. Its the same problem with my ABIT and my NEO2 and my Soltek. so i am starting to blame the memory controller in my fx-53 ???

Also when i try increasing my PSU +3.3 line all the way to 3.7 it does not make any change.

And 1 prob i dont understand is, that everytime i play with the rails om my PSU, i cant get ANY USB devices to work at the same time.

I have tested 3 pairs of 2x512MB RAM. Here is the results:
    1. Corsair XL - max FSB at 2-3-3-6 is 230
    2. Adata Vitesta DDR566 - max FSB at 2.5-4-3-6 is 260
    3. OCZ PC3700 EB - max is 220 no matter what the timing is. Trust me, I have tried most known tweaks already such as lowering HT freq to 3x, increasing vDimm/vCore, lowering multiplier, relaxing timing. The only thing that can help is to run it at 2T. I managed to hit 230 HTT with this. But performance hit is pretty significant here.

Note that for all three, the only difference component in the system is the RAM itself. Also, Success/Failure is determined by the successful run of all SuperPI, Prime95, 3DMarks, and StressCPU tests.

Now, any advice will be greatly appreciated on why EB performs so badly on MSI Neo2

Best we can figure out on the EB @ 220fsb issue is that there is a power or available current issue on the MSI board. The EB requires lots of juice to work properly and the MSI is appatrently not up to the task in stock form. As you have read from guys that are running the OCZ DDR Booster in their boards, they have no issues at all.

The EB series was designed before this board came out and works just fine in nearly all boards. I suggest you add a DDR Booster and enjoy killer performance. This may be the only solution sabe for modding the board.

    Thanks
