Sane, yes. The prices are insane, problably worse once they reach Europe. 7900GT for 299 dollar will problably cost 400 euro.Originally Posted by Starscream

hehehe i can't wait til 3/8/06 12:00 or 0:00.......
Unlike the 512 GTX, the 7900 will be in ample supply. Just look at the x1900xtx price decline and this will be similar. Should be plenty of supply. But, if you have the cash and want to first on the block. Anyone want a BetaMax?
Not surprised on the memory. The timings will need to be changed to get higher clocks. But, like ATI, nVidia did a little extra homework and found that tighter memory timings will yield better perfromance at spec core clocks. So, in essence, they are matched. But, if you OC the core, the balance goes away, and you need more bandwidth from the memory.Originally Posted by guess2098
As for the core, the are putting just enough voltage into the core to get a comfortable pad over the spec clock.

That's a slightly unfair comparison... Either companies card will work with the same "media"Originally Posted by HeavyH20

As the old saying goes, "Competing standards equals no standards".
But, I have heard of some OEM vendors with custom driver sets to run Crossfire on nForce. So, maybe we will get back to a non-ATI MOBO world, after all. Let's face it, we buy ATI motherboards to support Crossfire, and that's it. It would be nice if both options worked on one platform, no?
