Just to run at 4ghz we need 450 FSB which is pretty tough to achieve on most most mobo/quad combos.

Regardless I bought one to see what it could do with a P5K Deluxe...
My P5KC runs 450 fsb all day (Yes, with the Q6600)

when i overclock can i jump from 2400 to 3000 or should i go slowly ?

Thanks. Btw, did you try 400x9? It should be a little easier on the CPU and you might be able to use less vcore.

I wont run like this 24/7, something around 3ghz@1.38 is good for me. As for 400x9, in all the bench's I ran, this combo killed it...so thats why i went that route....I'm gonna try to bring the volts down over the next while....see what happens.

G0 is different since the errata has changed, some bugs fixed, some bugs added. Apparently some transistors were moved around to spread the heat a little more evenly, removing some hot spots.

Whether overclockabiliy is actually different is up for debate, but it is a different core, albeit only with a few minor changes. Don't forget CPUs, like many things are produced on a production line - so changing the core to a slightly different design can be done with minimal disruption. Update the machines with the new layout, and let them do the rest.

Ive got mine (g0),just came in today, up to 3.5ghz on 1.33v after vdroop on ip-35 pro. Its hovering around 55-57C on abits uguru temp monitor. Core temp seems to crash my computer, even at stock settings..

been priming stable for a while now.

I need to work on my memory. Its gskill pc-6400 and it fails prime anywhere past like 900mhz... I have it at 2.25v, I am scared to take it higher though people are reporting 1100mhz at like 2.35v.

ur temps are about 74c in coretemp, my uguru panel says 46c under load, and coretemp says 63c, so difference of 17c.

dont look at my sig, this is for one of the b3 quad cores i have in one of the computers watercooled. the cpu is at 3.2 at 1.33 loaded/

guys...sorry to be a newbie, but...what temps can i expect to see on a q6600, at 3.2ghz...lets say...1.45v (to be sure) cooled by a tuniq T?

I'm betting mid to high 50's under load. Hopefully you won't need to give it 1.45v for 3.2ghz though.

I have this on 1.45 Vcore 3.2 ghz with tuniq.
Diode shows 49 degress, coretemps varies from 60-65 degrees on full load.
Hope this is answer good enough.

Thank god. All I see is G0's getting decent numbers. Finally a B3. With a little luck I can do the same.

Wow, 4GHz prime stable is pretty awesome. Hovering around 70C is not quite as awesome, but it within the G0's TDP.

I agree! and with a 680i too! I'm torn! I have a p5k premium comin tomorow. My current G0 isn't even stable at 3200 on the 680i. Same batch as turtles. Right after i ordered the p5k-p, i got an e-mail from MSI RMA. My second 8800ultraOC is comin back to me!! I guess i'll test my second G0 that will be here tomorrow on the 680i then install the asus and compare. I hope the 680i can hang. If it can't, i have an ultra fer sale

Could we add more info to the database such as:

Memory Specs (Timing, Voltage, CPU:FSB ratio, Brand, Speed)
    Motherboard Specs
What air cooling product (not feasible with water since sould be custom)?

It would make it easier than to search through individual threads.

nice eva2000, but dont the es cpu's usually clock higher than retail chips?
@turtletrax...nice work on the 680i, and with 4 sticks of ram??? wow!
see,s like we can all expect at least 3.4 on these chips, with the better ones clocking from 3.6~4.0

Maybe it's just me but does the q6600 throttle down when idle? It seems like it only runs at 1600Mhz when only a few small programs run. Or is that just CPU-Z? I also get a temp reading of 15C when at 1600. Isn't that a bit low even at that speed with a TT Big Typ VX?

You need to disable all of the extra cpu features from the bios.

Speedstep is already turned off. all thats left is c1e support, max cpuid value limit and cpu tm function.

What exactly am I supposed to disable? I'm new to the Commando, there are some many more options over the a8n-sli :P I'm not sure what exactly does what. All i know is that the multiplier keeps switching between x6 and x9
