pirs please let us know what your looking for from it i know that this is not allowed but it would really help out the community to study the chip and see what has made it unlocked after previously being locked if this is a violation of xs rules(which it probably is) i am sorry but i and the oc'ing community need answers for this and how this happened

    thanx @njkid32

hmm... it looks there are no bridge on cpu , k8 is very different from k7 i think pin mod requires but i have a differet idea ; boyz , is there any one to mod cpu microcodes if we hack microcodes , bios identyfies the cpu wrong and we can set multipliers

kind of like what happend when the prescotts came out , some asus ( i think ) motherboards didnt have the code so dropped the multi to a default value

Update: I think that letters on CPU PCB near right bottom edge is nothing important.

    Mine E3 3000+ have B8 letter
    E6 3000+ - have A8

So it isn't worth to look on.

People! Please measure you resistanses on pins that I mark yellow.
We need data from CPUs with default multi not 9...Sempron or 3200+ or more will be good.

So just to clarify this Tin...

I should check the resistance between GND and each of the yellow pins on my 11x and 10x chips?
I can definately do the 11x soon, as its not in my system.

Actually i think there's not much different between the problem of changing the multiplier of locked athlon-xp's and the A64.
If you mod an XP to a mobile, then it's L6 bridge becomes active and allows you to change the max fid. Now that's great and all.. but for me the question is, where does the Athlon-XP get the value of it's multiplier from when it's not modded into a mobile part. Previously it was the l3 bridge (i think) But now that has no effect. But the core has to get the value from somewhere. Where? Hidden bridges/fuses in the pcb? Nonvolatile memory in the core?

My current cpu is a desktop 2500+ barton and it came unlocked...multipliers up to 25. I just ordered my new system today. 3200+ venice, an8-ultra, and evga 7800GT. I will be selling my barton chip, abit nf7-s 2.0 board, and ati 9800 pro on ebay. Think I will get a little bit extra since the chip is unlocked? I never modded anything on it.

Sorry if I went off subject a little.

    Thanks,
    Jared

I just read this whole thread and I'm amazed.

    Wow...Pirs, I'd keep that CPU...for life.

    But...that's just me.

I don't know if you get it but, people would kill for a VeniceFX.

WTF People, let DO something, not just flame and offtopic

I need some info to keep work going, or I need cpu with other than x9 multi (dead one from mechanical damages will be suitable) if you have no hands to give me values from your cpus

Finding it EXTREMELY difficult reading the resistances of the yellow pins on my 3500+.
I dont have no-hands, and it took me about 15mins just to find out the first one i tried had no reading at all (no-matter the DMM setting), because i had to keep refinding the pin each time i changed the DMM.
If someone can point out a supereasy way then ill do it.

I didn't read all the past posts, but I only have one question. Look here: http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc?id=32616

That says ram size is 1024MB, but slot 1 is 16MB and slot 2 is 512MB...doesn't that add up to 528MB of ram?
