You're still not going to get anywhere without voltages.

Well atleast a clockgen is a step in the right direction.

V modd's can be tried later!

I let Franck know the PLL info a few days ago. Not sure if they made he made any progresss yet. ATI may also be creating a soft pll too.

    when the clockgen?

I too have just acquired one of these nifty microATX boards, but zero o/c available in the bios. I'm using a Winchester 3200 that I pulled from an Abit mobo - where it could be safely o/c from 1999mhz to 2500mhz just by upping the fsb! - and with standard heatsink (but larger/faster fan).

Anyone know when Clockgen will be available for this mobo? Or does CGen only get made for full ATX boards? Or can another MSI bios safetly used?

thus far most CGens have been for whole chipsets, so any board regardless of size could use it.
Using a different MSI BIOS probably wouldn't work, as as of now, this board is unique in MSI's lineup (only one with the chipset).

Well I did try some test yesterday which were given by Franck, but he thinks "fine tuning" is not available on 951412 and so there will be fixed frequencies to choose from and it will take hell lot longer. But lets hope for the best and till then I can get my board to run @ 204FSB not too shaby for now, huh??? What a bad way to waste Twinmos CH-5.......

Well, that's something to look forward to!

BTW, MSI have just released a new bios 3.3 that will "Strengthen memory compatibility" - whatever that means.... Anyway d/l and install it okay, but can't seem to see much difference. To tell the truth, I've steered well clear of the (very few) memory settings that can be changed, cos the board just "freezes" - and for hours too. Never known a mobo to take so long to reset - the "Clear CMOS" jumper doesn't seem to work at all on my board - you HAVE to remove the battery - and for several hours too. Best to leave it out overnight.

Also, what are you all using to monitor temps/fanspeeds/volts? MSI's Corecenter tells me that it "Corecentre isn't compatible with your motherboard". (Thanks MSI! ), and PC Alert does temp/fan speed only - all the volt readouts are blanked.

Whatever I like this board - just a waste running the 3200 at 1999mhz when it can hold steady at (very near) 2500mhz. Runs cool too at just 38-40C on ful load - Seti.

speed fan seems to work although at least for me the sensor #2 needs to be calibrated it says its at 105C. At least its showing voltages for +3.3 and +12.

Well Cargo, you are not the only one, any aggresive numbers (even with 2-3-3-5, forget 2-2-2-5) set with A64 Tweaker freezes my mb too, and even though it restarts, to my surprise Monitor does not show any signal. Clear CMOS does not help right away to get back the Video.

I have also noticed Southbridge getting very hot (yes its HOTT) and thinking about an old TNT2 heatsink Fix on it for now as Mumbai, India is already very hot (32-35C). PC Alert minus voltage readouts is the only thing I am using as of now but then A64 3000 doesnt run that hot at stock. MSI, your Core Center is BS for now.

At stock or 204 though its a very strong performer with S-Video out and DX9 class integrated GPU. But I have really started to think that MSI missed somethings when making this boards Hope it can't be too bad afterall and maybe future bios can fix something atleast (read VMEM) or else Franck finds some pre-fixed values which are easily achivable as A64 3000 & CH-5 are raring to go.

    Harshal.

Actually no fine tuning is possible on this PLL. In fact it is there, but does not work
Anyway, there are predefined clock settings that can be choosen :

With spread : the max FSB is 220MHz, with AGP = 73 and PCI = 36.
    Steps are : 200, 204, 210, 214, 220

Without spread : the max FSB is 229MHz, with AGP = 76 and PCI = 38.
    Steps are : 200, 203, 209, 219, 229

I sent a test version (with no spread) to Harshal, I'm waiting for his results.

As this version provides no fine tuning, it will be free.

Odd, my PQI tccd does 2-2-2-5 no problem on boot with the a64 tweaker.

    what do you use there?

would also like to get my 3500+ up to speed!!!

OK there were some problems, hopefully this will work now.
Some switch cause the FSB/PCI ratio to change. This is a real problem and tends to make the system freeze. By chance, starting from 200 up to 220, the ratio does not change. But from 133 to 200 it does. unfortunately there is not a lot i can do to avoid this.
Anyway, as soon as the version is stable I post a link.

    See you,
    Franck

    If Only............

    QUOTE]

Well, I have AMD 3000 and Twinmos PC3200 512MBX2 with Winbond CH5 which takes 2.85v atleast to be 2-3-2-5 stable...

Yes, my friend you are one of the lucky ones out there with those TCCD Chips.. If only I could get it (actually there are many things which are on my list..DFI nF4 SLI-DR is one of it) here in Mumbai....but there is no demand for high performance products as its not consumed by regular people... with 200W PSUs going as 350W... u can expect what it is like. But then can't blame people with less money, right? I hate it, but can't change it.

But I have ordered G.Skill PC4400-TCCD 512MB DC kit as my unlce is visiting NY, US. Then I think i will be able to get 2-2-2-5.

    Here we are :

Big thank to Harshal for his tests

edit : this clockgen assumes that the memory frequency is the same as the FSB. So far I don't know how to get the real one, so trust your BIOS settings.

Many thanks Mr CPUZ! Working good!

Just noticed this new 939 mATX board get a mention on another forum:
    http://tw.giga-byte.com/Motherboard/...-K8A480M-9.htm
It uses the same ATI chipset, but seems to have more interesting options:

    1. CPU HT / Multiplier / Vcore Voltage adjustable via BIOS

    2. PCI-ExpessX16 Voltage / Clock adjustable via BIOS

    3. DIMM Voltage / Clock adjustable via BIOS

Can't seem to find it available anywhere yet though..... maybe not released yet...
