that boards got one of the best layouts I ever seen.
tons of room if you wanna watercool the southbridge too, thats a definate plus. theres tons of room around just about everything, which is great for modding

    so get some results already.

was just about to order one, got the msi here(still gotta try), same with abit, used the gigabyte and asus. Nf3 board from a decent manu sounds good to me. I agree that its good for chipset position, how hard was it to realise right under the freaking agp slot(gigabyte) ain't a good place, also, great contant on the chipset for nvidia as per usual :p

Hmm, which chip to try first to play with this MSi board, 3200+ 0.09? or 3600+ ,

its new? therefore it might be better than all the other boards, to be fair most are ok, but for me, gigabyte is unstable with ocz booster in, and fairly cack with 1gig mem in, asus is good but 3v ovp on mem, abit(still to test) msi i got as a swap as a favour for friend, they are ok but basically suck at overclocking, yes people love them, cos 99% of people are happy witha smallish overclock, from many boards msi are always worse, and most unstable and most deaths occur with them.

i meant to ask, what stock voltages does teh epox have?

    no one knows yet.
    it's new.
everything new is kinda exciting cause it has potential.
at the moment, theres no definate "good" 939 board yet.
theres alot of ok ones but for each one thats ok, theres just as much buggy stuff you gotta deal with.
people seem to watch the 939 boards alot, just waiting for one definate good one to show up.

epox tends to make good solid boards.
atleast, better then MSI and alot cheaper then gigabyte

    1.7 Vcore.
    2.9 Vdimm.

wtf is with all these :banana::banana::banana::banana: companies and there crap vdimm/vcore options. They build boards primarily for us lot most of these companies. The nf7-s, the epox's, they don't (afaik/can see) get sold in huge quantities to OEM's in the same way asus, msi, gigabyte do. A majority of the small companies must sell a decent amount of boards to enthusiasts, so why aren't they providing for the enthusiast? on ANY enthusiast board you should without even a question, without hesitation, without needing to check before you buy, expect 3.2vdimm(2.4/5 seems about right for ddr2 boards). ath xp, 2.2v working stable, ath 64, 1.9 min, 2.2 really, 478 p4, 1.8/9v , 775 prescott/not sure tbh, 1.7? To me i'm just angry when a board doesn't have those options. Especially when its Epox/Abit/Dfi who claim to be such enthusiast-overclocking board makers.

Msi are just crap, 2.3vcore on their canterwood gave me 1.85v, 3.4vdimm was hitting around 3.05. Corecell-crap, uguru-crap, anything but clockgen is just a waste of money to us and waste of money to the company making these programs, especially as they work so badly in most of the boards they supposedly work on.

AS i said in another thread, none of my local mates are into computers, i can't solder for my life(shakey as heck hands), so 1.7v vcore just ruled me out of this board completely.

    thx kevin!

the box looks beautifull! epox has the best box designs from all manufacturers!!!!

im kinda disapointed of epox though i would have expected a 4phase power design from them :/ is there a board with a 4 phase power design btw?

the stock chipset heatsink looks horrable though! looks like they had some spare heatsinks from low end videocards they are selling now

but yeah, a lot of room for cooling the chipset without touching the other parts of the board and the videocard

i hope they have some nice voltages hoping for at least 3v vdimm

EDIT: only 2.8v vdimm? whats up with that? why are all the manufacturers so timid when it comes to vdimm?

Why oh why can't anyone make a 939 board with reasonable volatge choices. Seriously, I am really getting pretty disgusted about this state of affairs as I see others are as well. Come on DFI, hurry it up!!!

Vdimm isn't impressive at all. Vcore isn't really, either. Does the OCZ Booster work with this board?

epox wins again on box design. 8rda+ was like WHOA.

epox has always had good voltages, so this (3phase, right?) shouldnt be too bad.

how many phases was the old 8rda+? wasnt it 6 phase?!

well at least they've stopped using those crappy green caps.
now maybe a good bios and all will be well.
dig the wat the cpu is so close to the dimms - might be why it is a hair faster some of the time. also the nf3 heatsink looks like it does the job better than most other mobo's.

good luck with it and please give it hell for us

Welp crap.. i need to know if the DIMM/Vcore mod is doable on this thing before tomorrow(Thurday). As of right now, its lookin like i may just do a return to sender on this since newegg wont allow for returns on this board.
