Mine is said to be delivered on Friday. Yes, I did cheapo UPS ground... I'm an idiot, but I'll probably be back here when I get it in. Will be using it on my current W/C system.

[QUOTE=evetS-]Here are some pre-results, I just got mine, and booted it up. I tried 300x9 on stock volts, no go, so i tried 290x9, 285x9 works for now. I'm gonna play around with it a bit.

evetS,
you got those cpu @ ewiz...when did you bought them ?
I should order mine tonight...think i'll get 0528 like you ?
I was hoping a 052XAPXX like eage![]()

Still, my point is that it would be nice to get the IHS off one of these to see what were dealing with. I may buy one just for that.
Gee, this sounds like AMD had so many bad X2s that they made the whole E6 line. I highly doubt this as it is a replacement for the E3 stepping (unless you're saying AMD doesnt even need to produce single core processors as the yields for X2s suck so badOriginally Posted by DrJay

One of my E6's week 28 from ewiz same code as the other guy's is doing 2.65 at 1.6 volts right now in my Chaintech. Can't get the other one stable at that speed on my brother's DFI, especially when we try to run the memory at a decent divider.
Once the other guy that posted the screen shot tells me what bios he's using, I'll try that on the DFI I have here.
Things aren't looking great for these cpus from my point of view, and I have two on hand.
I ordered one of these yesterday just for the hell of it.If I decide to keep it, I'll take the ihs off and post some pics.

Clearly, I'm not making any definitive statements. I'm only saying it would be nice to get a look at the core....nothing more, nothing less. It probably will end up being a 'normal' 512k, Venice die.....still, its worth taking a look if, for nothing else, the cooling benefits.Originally Posted by dmo580

The OP looks to not actually have an E6 according to AMD... s/he has a normal E6 explained by the FFO instead of the FF2 (as seen on evetS-'s Chip) seen in CPUID.

intel e6420 (currently at 8x410=3280 @ 1.35v)

I am extraordinarily content
You guys need to read below. The E6 is coming for X2's as well.
There is the JH-E6 revision, which looks to be just for dual-core processors. For Athlon 64 X2 processors, it will have a CPUID of 00020F32h.
The other E6 revision is the DH-E6 revision, which will have a stepping of 00020FF2h (for A64s and Semprons).

Remember the X2 has one large die with two cores unlike Intel that uses two dies with one core eachOriginally Posted by dmo580
I use OCCT instead of Prime95, finds errors in seconds or minutes vs hours with Prime 95. Saved my brother and I lots of time.
I agree OCCT is faster.Originally Posted by Doom5
Well a large die should be easily spotted as opposed to just a single core die.... Anyone take it off yet?Originally Posted by WOLF_OF_DK

You sure about the Intel twodies+onecoreeach? I think their 65nm chips are supposed to be like that to improve yields (they don't need two cores next to each other on the wafer to be matched), but they haven't done it yet with their 90nm DC parts.Originally Posted by WOLF_OF_DK

Don't expect what OP got...I got my hopes up, but now i'm kind of dissappointed on what I got just because I was expecting to run 2.7ghz on stock volts. But It's not a bad chip. My temps got crazy high when I went for 2.8ghz, so I stopped at 2.7. I'm now using 9x290 @ 1.4v for every day use, which I found is pretty damn stable. I ran prime, and did super pi 32m at the same time, then continued to prime for about 5 hours, then stopped and played some cs:s, no crashes.
Edit:: For benching, i'm going to shoot for 2.8+, but if it goes over 50C, i'm gonna stop![]()

Got mine yesterday, stuck it under a sonic tower. Temps are WAY low, running at 1.375v with 30C idle (pretty warm today here too).
First impressions are that this chip looks as good as the E3's. More detailed results later - however I'm using an old Antec Smart Power at the moment because of issues with the seaonic s12....![]()
I ran OCCT stability test, and it passed, but i ran prime after that, and it failed after 9 hours, which would mean occt isn't that great....Originally Posted by Doom5
