I switched my Dothan over to a P4GD1 board with pci-express so I threw on my X800XL which costs nearly 2x as a 6800LE and it took a lot of benching and a good OC to beat the 6800LE in '03...
In '05 the X800XL wins by nearly 600 points, but '03 is a tight match. I still believe this is the best bang for the buch in GPU's...

I "had" best 6800nu *ever*. Right off the bat, 400/800 worked 100% perfect with 16/6 enabled. Pushed higher but dinky XFX HS didn't cool well beyond 410-415.. and memory needs vmods after 860-880. But, you should see the grin on my face when I can play BF2 artifact free 1280x1024 with AA and everything..

Ok, thanks, i found another vmem mod: link
I don't think i need more than 1.5v on the core (the highest voltage i can run by simply modding the bios)...
    But, thank you anyway!

What is the highest voltage that is "safe" to put on a 6800-series core?

Edit: What voltages and cooling did you beat the wr in 3dmark05 with?

    @ shigs: Here's the capmod

    Just got my 6800LE =)

Stock cooling. Haven't even replaced the TIM with AS3. Stock fan including the grill. I'll fix that during the weekend when I have time

Bios mod to 1.5V (that's 1.4V actual right?). Couldn't unlock all 16 pipes without artifacts. Seems to be okay at 12x1, 6vp in 2k3.

    Initial overclock 430/930. Did a 2k3 run: 10727.

Oh well. Pulling off the heatsink to apply AS3.

Wow, that fan really is dinky. I'll take that out and slap on a 60mm. I'm think of keeping the shroud and just covering the hole with the 60mm fan so that it'll channel the air over the fins. Would that be a good idea?

Was inspired by this thread to go treat myself to a Leadtek 6800LE this week and finally had time to play about with it today.

Managed to unlock to 16 pipelines straight away, but only able to unlock one of the extra vertex shaders. Could only hit ~400 core until I modded the bios to 1.4v, and now at ~475 core

    13227 '03 & 5113 '05

Gonna go play around with different drivers now

Thanks for all the info in this thread so far btw

Wow what kind of cooling are you using to get 475? Thats a pretty good overclock for a GT on water with 1.4v for this card thats amazing.

    Thanks Charlie

Managed to beat your '03 score (13694), but 3 points shy of your '05 score (5445)

Might try that mod you did with your card, I get artifacts past 900 memory clock.

What kind of ram chips do you people have on your cards?

Mine has 2.8ns Hynix chips. I seem to be getting 930MHz easily using the stock cooler (lapped and AS3 applied though).
