3700+ OEM SanDiego - week 0526? Anybody has that?

    Hey guys,

Just got this in from monarch, an oem 3700+ SD.

    The info is:

    ADA3700DAA5BN

    CABGE 0526APBW

Does anybody have one of these, or similar week 26 ones?

Problem is i can't really test it right now, b/c i am waiting on the motherboatd i want to start selling (in a few weeks). I have a short time to return this, unless I find out something good about this stepping/week. Anyone?

    Thanks.

Yeah, only reason i got it, is because of that 260$ deal, that was also before i knew of the price cut. But even with the price cut, the retail is a little bit more expensive. I don't really care about the extra warranty or stock HF, so the price works for me.

That doesn't look too bad, but for a WCed setup, not spectacular either.
    Thanx for the info.

I'll upgrade later on anyway, i want to see if AMD is going to release x2 4000 1MB x 1MB cache. But if x2 clocks as good as early venices, and 2.7-2.8 is feasible and somewhat common on air, i'll go for that and just sell my SD.

I mean, i want to keep this SD for now, unless i find out that this stepping is considered a poor overclcoker, then i'll exchange it for x2 3800.

I just got my 3700 yesterday as well from the MC deal

    ADA3700DAA5BN

    CABGE 0526APAW

Mine does 2.8ghz with 1.65v, superpi 32m stable and i played about 3hrs of BF2 last night at that speed. Cooling is a xp-90c with a high speed panaflo and temps are 36c idle, 46c load. I have a 92mm Tornado i could hook up but i can't stand the noise anymore :/. Pretty good results for my out of the box oc, i'll have more time to play with it this weekend. It's still not as good as my 0448 winchester which did 2.83ghz with 1.6v, but i'll take it.

Mine should be 0526. Monarch. I'll report fully when I get home.

I'm getting 2.7GHz at 1.57v. So hopefully there is more in it.

Oh and yah... if you're obsession with speed is based in 3d... big fat gong on getting a 3800+ X2 instead. In games it will behave more like a venice. The 1mb cache chip X2's would be a nice everything rig. But a 4400+ is sold at close to the price of 2 3700+'s which it is. So you are paying pretty well for that second core, question is if you need it, and I don't. Bring your 3d benches if you get one... and people with SD's will be happy to run circles around it! For a gamer a 3700+ is cheaper and better.. no doubt.

it just puzzles me this way of thinking. Moving two cores onto one drop in cpu doesn't fix all of the world's issues with dual cpu setups. Would we be having this discussion so often in forums a while ago with 2 - 2.0GHz 512kb cache opterons versus a 2.2GHz 1MB chip? Hardly. Dually with one socket.

I have same stepping as thread starter (0526 apbw). I'll post my results in the San diego thread as soon as I've gotten a chance to test it.
