dont know if it is nf4, but what makes you think it will be better? maybe is a cost saving new revision without much improovement, and no 4v option (way to many problems).

i could be completely wrong but you never know (happened with lanparty nf2 the ones from taiwan were better than the ones from china).

you must be drunk it says nforce 4 right on it hehe its just laid out the same.
im sure this board has all the hardware features that the ati chipset one does. 4vdimm is fine on it because it uses a different type of volt regulator that is cool.

Has anyone heard anything on the new rev.? I emailed DFI. I want to know ETA. Also, should I just buy a Rev1 now 'cause I need it or should I wait it out?

rumours are October earliest for new revision if it even comes out. With new Nvidia chipset coming out they may use that. If you are in need of a board quickly get the current revision as it is working quite nicely for many people including myself.

Same boat here guys...would like to wait it out, but if its not until October I may just pickup the cheapest nf4U board I can find to hold me over. My X2 and 7800GTX sure need a home tho Let us know if you get a firm reply back from them on a release date.

Be it the new sapphire board, or the new revision of the dfi nf4 boards, I'm really looking forward to a board with better cap placement around the socket so I won't have to fear bending them too far with insulation when doing dry ice

The only ones close to the socket there are backed by the memory slot which is nice
And on the sapphire board they're all by the giant mosfet which is nice

nf4 NB still in very bad position , also ram dimms (rams) will block fresh air .... cooling will be very difficult.

to those talking about RAM cooling, it seems that in most normal ATX cases the PSU intake fan will suck air over the RAM slots to cool them to at least a minor degree. For those wanting something better (most of us), what about a shroud to the case exaust fan? just suck the air around the RAM modules then exaust it out of the case. In BTX style cases or cases where the PSU is NOT right over the ram but under the board, you can install a blowhole type fan mount in the top of the case for fresh air.

This boards looks nice thou, the extra spacing between PCI-E x16 slots, the 3 PCI slots, 4 phase CPU power and far fewer power connectors make baby Jesus happy :p

And with the late release date, anyone else thinking this might have nForce 4 X16?

Will the revision still have PCI gigabit or will it use PCI-Express like the Broadcom 5789 used by Abit? I really wish they would move stuff OFF the PCI bus! The 4 port SATA II controller + Gigabit lan is obviously going to get in eachother's way . Maybe not if you don't use it all, but why put it on there then. I just realised all the lanes are in use by the PCI-e slots, but they could leave out the pci-e 1x slot right next to the first 16x slow, nobody is going to put a card in there anyways.

the real question is....how well does it overclock? I can't wait to find out for us phase changer I think chilly1 and pcice better hurry up and come up with a smaller footprint of mounting plate, I don't think the older version of "donut" foam going to fit in there unless you trim the crap out of it.

the chipset location still suckazz but it's better than the current one, I'm sure someone will manage to fit a much beefier sink/fan in there I do like the new ram slots location though, can fit a 120mm right on top of them
