    Is this a good stepping?

    I went to local store to purchase a CPU for a friend, and I got 0517UPBW Stepping so is it good stepping? if you have one please share with me so I might get one if it's good

    Like SillySider said. Go to your friend's house and check it together with him. 0517 are usually good, but not necessary you get also a good chip.

    he's not overclocker but I am, he's using stock cooler so If I want to test it out I can't get any further with stock cooler. I wish I can take that chip home and test it w/ my Vapochill LS

    I would buy the CPU, test it, if it turns out crappy OCer then give to friend to run at stock... seeing as he doesn't want to OC

    Most week 17's were 2800mhz on air chips. A few weren't. I'd say it's a good bet if you are in the market for a new chip anyway.
