    4400+ @ 3GHz, STOCK COOLING

It's only a suicide, but impressive, IMO. Voltage was 1.7V (1.55V * 113%) on the stock cooler. There were fans for the RAM and the PWM area, which helped, I'm sure. This 4400+ is generally benchmark stable at around 2.8GHz and 1.6V on the stock cooler, will try to post some screenies of it in action as I only have this validation link for now. It'll be watercooled by mid-week when I get my barbs for my MCW-50, I'm expecting to run at least SOME benchmark at 3GHz then.

For now, here's the validation link...

Nice overclock on the stock cooling, are you going to test with better cooling?

Yup....have my WC all setup for it, just I decided to wait for my MCW-50's barbs to come in. I'm considering putting it on WC really quickly, just to get a general idea, but I don't want to take it out, install the MCW-50, leaktest and then put it all back in. I just might though...

Just be carefull I did the same once, but wanted to do it so quickly that I didn't do the leaktest, one fitting on the CPU block was a bit loose, and the VGA card died because of the water dripping on it

What's the temp btw with the stock cooling at that voltage?

I know, I've already done a 72hr leaktest on what I have in there now (TDX, heatercore, res, pump), not a single problem. Definitely don't want to have any sort of leakage onto my stuff though and will take my time when the barbs come in.

I've never seen 50C on this cpu under any condition (49C, yes, but not 50C ). Ambient is 24C or so.

Pretty freaking good man. 2.8 is really only bench stable? Because I've got my single core Venice Prime stable at 2833, and it's only screen stable to around 2966 (both on upgraded air). Though it could be a board limit.

I honestly haven't really tried to get much stable past 2.8GHz, or used much more voltage than 1.55V. I have a feeling my first core can do 2860 or so at high volts (1.65V or so) but my second one will hold me back to 2800 for multithreaded benches. I'll update tomorrow when I test some more.

Remember, while your Venice might only have 133MHz difference between suicide and prime stable, these are two cores and over 2x times the transistors...putting a load on it is a lot more stressful.

You should post your w/c results as soon as you get them, You seem to have a good core (uhm, sorry, good coreS ) the w/c just HAS to improve then benchable freq!

so I'm assuming the 4400+ x2 does 2,6ghz+ with stock cooling ? that's pretty nice considering it's dual core and twice the cash

REBEL: also looking forward to dual 3GHz, but for more things than just gaming of course... (if I only gamed, I woulda gotten an FX)

biohead: yeah, this does 2.75GHz all day. Maybe more as the memory was also maxxed out at that speed when I tested it.

    Tonight.

UPDATE: having a hell of a time getting my room to cool down (AC was off all day...ugh), will have at least the 3GHz screeny though, promise. 2.8GHz stable is doubtful as my room is a good 7C warmer right now than it was last night (AC was on 'freeze' mode, held 23C ambient with two computers a, a TV and too many lights on in the room ). Knocking on 30C's door right now...ugh. Barely getting 2.76GHz benchmark stable right now

Anyway, I'm making that screenie and some max runs my chore for the night.

    3GHz screenie!

Room finally cooled to 25C, maybe I'll get some 2.8GHz benches in now too.

Alright, 2.8GHz is being a to me (crashed in NATURE of 01...wtf?...shoulda run them separately, allowing the cpu to chill a lil, but w/e)...probably too much voltage, raising temps too much. Don't wanna hurt this baby though so I'm putting off my benchmarking until my WC is all set up and leaktested. I'm hoping to have some 3GHz benchies then for you all...

2800Mhz DualCore @ 1.6v with stock cooler, and only 49-50c?? Now that cant be right?

Nice CPU tho .. im thinking of getting one myself. A bit overkill for Counter-strike, leeching and FireFox .. but overkill is nice

    What stepping?

"only" with water ... with phase change it would need ~1.4V, I guess.
