First NVidia 7800GTX benchs - single card for now :)

Here is my first test with one 7800GT - just one for now, SLI next week

1st impression - the card is much more larger than the X850XT, this is problematic with my small LianLi PC61, I suspect with SLI I will have to change HD position..

2nd impression : the graphic card is really silent, much low noise than 6800's - good work Nvidia

Well, let's go to thing that really matters : overclock and and benchmarks

77.72WHQ Drivers, coolbits, than hit "Detect Optimal Frequencies" and 525 / 1350 ..not bad for a stock card with the original bios

Benchs run with good old FX-55 in my MachII moded by Ricky at moderate 3.350Mhz

1st 3Dmark 2005

More than 10K with just 1 graphic card 100%stock not bad

2nd 3DMark 2003

No bad either ..

And than a quick 3DMark 2001 in Win2K, using my tweak..

Nice scores it seems these cards are much more cpu dependant. I have only benched 03 and 05 with mine and tonight will be trying it out w/ my new fx-55 sd. Any chance you will be trying to push further on single cards b4 hitting sli? I am shooting for 21k and 10-10.5k but am just cooling the gpu and cpu with water for now.

OK, a few more score with single card and the stock cooler..

With stock cooler core goes up to 526 (around geometric clock), memories up to 1400 ...not bad

Ambient temperature around 23ºC. Old FX-55 and Mushinks redline not maxed at MachII, dont want to change the jumper to 5v for 24/7 use.

Funny in 3DMark2001 ..with much less CPU speed (3802 MHz versus 3350 Mhz) and less graphic speed (570 Mhz/1400 MHz versus 637 MHz / 1435 MHz) this stock Single Card get near OPPainter Nº 1 SLI score in all test, except pure GPU tests (Drago and Nature).



This is of course explained by the difference between a well tweaked Win2000 and WinXP.

To bad SLI does not work with Win2000, so I must work on new tweaks that works on WinXP ..I have some ideas but have to check their effectivity first

Very nice! Hope you plan on sharing them tweaks. Still workin on my single card finally got 10k and 21k. Just waitin on fm to update and get the 21 listed.

when you boot W2K, you see the bootscreen, hear the sound of windows startup ?
I got this too, didn't know it was a known issue....
is there a workaround ?
