Talking Barely edged by Conrad - Newark SS 3577mhz

Got some DI today. I wasn't ready for any big runs, but I figured I'd plop some on this Newark and get a feel for how far she'll go.
I've remounted my Chilly1 container about 4 times today.... this is the best contact so far. I don't think my chip is as good as Conrad's, or maybe I just don't have his skills but I managed to beat his single-stage suicide shot with DI

    CPU-Z Val:

Like I said, I'm on a crappy OS so there is no point in benching for big numbers (plus my GPU is bone stock ATM). But I have acertained that I can do Car High around 3.3ghz, so when I am able to get some more DI and mod the card maybe I can try and beat my old Claw+X800XTPE score, which ain't gonna be easy with this X850

I really wanted 3600mhz CPU-Z Validated, but it wasn't going to happen. I managed 3592mhz but the validation file was corrupted, and any time I tried 3.6ghz I got instant crash/hardlock/BSOD. Even tried 1.9v+ but that made things worse.

So there you have it I really wasn't expecting much from today's play. And I'm not a big fan of suicide shots, but what the heck, everyone here seems to love them, and there wasn't much else I could do with this OS install
I'll post up some rig pics in a bit.

    Cheers!

Congratulations, William. I knew you could pull it off, bro. Sometimes, you just need to have a little bit of faith in yourself.

I'm at work right now but as soon as I get home tonight, I'll revise my signature to reflect the WR turnover.

These Newarks rock! And I have a strong feeling that if you can control the drip rate of LN2 into the container, you'll be able to clock that chip to 3.8GHz or 3.9GHz.

    Nice work man! NEWARK BROTHERHOOD!

I'm going to be trying for 3GHz on tonight on air after I stabilize my ram with this new mem controller, realized that was my problem before.

    Thanks guys

I dunno if I will ever get a chance to put this CPU under LN2..... I hope so
I think that YOU would be able to make 3.8-3.9ghz with your old chip Conrad, but I think 3.7-3.8ghz would be a more reasonable assumption of what I might get In truth, I would much rather pull off a bench with CPU+GPU under DI and working well, than an uber-screenie.

Btw, I think I was right about good contact on that last try

Push for at least 3650MHz with dry ice. That way you get to keep the 754 suicide crown for a long time. And benching both the CPU and GPU at maximum clocks is where it's definitely at. My fun was cut short so now I leave the responsibility of pulling off 40K to you, my friend.

Stay tuned for my next toy: 4000+ San Diego.

Play time is over now, rig is back on air I may try some more suicide shots next time I Dice, but I seriously doubt 3650mhz will happen.
However, 40K on s754 has been my goal for quite a while now. I hope I can achieve it I wanted it back when I had Claw 3700+ and X800XTPE, but it didn't work out. So I sold both of those and got this Newark and X850 in pursuit of this goal.

    GL with that San Diego

you must follow the 2k1 road and break the 40k barrier.

    edit:
it will be harder with an x850,you'll loose some hefty N points.

Hehe, yeah you could call it that picked it off the street literally, lol.

The insulation on mobo is nail polish.

Lol, outta dice now I already pretty much maxed the chip for suicide runs, I don't think I'm going to get much higher. My contact was good, and more volts didn't help, so unless I get ahold of some LN2, that's it for the moment.
Hopefully next time I get DI I will have GPU vmodded+insulated and a benching hdd setup, so I can try some 3D.

Me and my friend made like half-dozen bottle bombs with the remaining dice He had never seen (or heard) one before. A couple were kinda crappy, but a couple made a freaking huge BOOM, very satisfying

What you do, pour it on? (it's thick ) No wonder I couldn't tell what it was If you find some UV reactive polish, it'ld match the MB

If you can find out what the store gets packed in the DI, you can always ask 'em "When do you get in your fresh [insert item packed in DI]"

Next time crush the DI so it's in small pieces instead of the "chunk" size you had in your pic, it'll help some

    Peace

Well, no one has tested with LN2 yet, but we've all see two Newarks that seem to cruise at dry ice temps just fine.

Yeah I put it on thick, don't want to take any chances

Good idea about packing item Maybe then I could have a way to get a few lbs of DI FREE every week!

As for DI, yes I know lots of small pieces work best. Kind of hard to pound it down from BIG chunks into small pieces though without creating a lot of powder. Maybe the powder is good too, I'm not sure. I use it anyway.

Ideally, I wish I could get the DI in small pellet form like I see some ppl here get it.

someone lend me a DI container to make a 3rd? i'm poor

Twilus, do you know how cold the core was getting when benching? i remember Conrad saying something about -75c or so.. that's definitly past most cold bug territory.. i assume you did the similar temps
Got a fan over those memory sticks? No? Well get to it before you kill them

    Very nice

Do you use some insulate between hold down and container?
I hope you understand my point, I mean in horizontal, insulate between hold down and container, there should be some air you know

Heh, you should def get one, they are lots of fun for much less $$ than a single-stage unit

Unfortunately I don't have a temp probe to measure from base, I only have BIOS temps to go by Conrad said when he was at -75C, BIOS reported -50C to -55C. At stock volts I was reading ~ -52C, after I upped the voltage it still was in the -4X range, only got to like -38C when I was running 1.9v.
So I think my temps were maybe not as good as Conrad's, but at least close

If I am understanding you right, nope there was nothing between the plastic holddown and the container. It didn't even get that cold, so I don't think it was any problem.
