That may be true to a certain extent. From what I've read different places they are having a tough time yielding working GPU's. Granted one of those places was theinquirer.net.Originally Posted by perkam

It's not hard to be pessimistic about ATI's ability to do more than a paper launch, though. Most of us are likely to believe any rumor that ATI is having a hard time with good yeilds. Did X800XT PE's ever become much more than vaporware?Originally Posted by Major_A
I got lucky with mine. I pre-ordered my X800XT PE from Compusa in early May last year. It was on my doorstep 2 days before the official launch in June. I was one of the few to even get one in 2004. Sooooo, I figure if I can manage to not buy a GTX for awhile, I'll just preorder an X900XT/XT PE as soon as I can. Maybe I'll get lucky again.
I really do think ATI is going to build the faster cards again.
EVGA P55 SLI, Xeon X3440 w/TRUE 120 Extreme, 4gb G.SKill Ripjaws DDR3-1600, Diamond Radeon 5870 w/T-Rad2/VRM-R3, 30gb OCZ Vertex SSD, 2x500gb Western Digital HDDs (RAID 0), CM HAF 932, Antec Truepower New 750w, Dell ST2410 24" monitor, Razer Diamondback 3g, Tarantuala, eXactmat,
Laptop: Gateway P-7811FX
X900XT PE is expected to be 2-3 times faster than X850XT PE (unconfirmed ATI source).

2-3 times faster? This generation is about 25% faster than last generation, MAYBE 50% TOPS. a 200-300% increase would be huge, more than last generation, which was the biggest leap in technology since like the voodoo2. Your ATI source isnt totally truthful lol, sorry.
