Sure does, really sucks that it's continuing. It's on the X2's as well which I was really hoping it wouldn't.

come on bench with the fx-57 many of you have them their are goin to release them on friday this week (i read somewhere)

Where are you guys getting this info please? Can someone with one of these things tell us when the cold bug kicks in? -40c isn't that big of a deal for most, under 25c (that's above freezing) like how the 6800s are is really bad. If it's -40c then yes it sucks for ppls who want to run serious benchmarks but not as bad for running a chiller or outdoor cold watercooling...

I heard somewhere that the cold-bug has something to do with a temp probe around the die. Maybe its possible to cut it off? Might look into this, and btw, whats the cheapest ship with a known cold bug? Under 100, and I'll take it apart til I find what wrong.

OK, if the cold bug effects you only under -40C then I think I'd be OK so long as I stuck with single stage phase change. Anybody know if its the same way for the X2's?

Thanks guys, it was a lot of work.
I will do my last SLI mode benches on water tonight.
After that I'm ready for cascade card cooling

They should have a fix for the cold bug by tomorrow by the way.

Most of them get it from experience. I talk to a few guys that have had the issue. Of course if your using something that cannot generate the low temps its not a problem.

    mesyn191:

Yes so far from what I hear the X2's also have the issue.

    moddolicous:

Isn't the on chip temp sensor built right into the die? Besides that where did you hear that was the problem?

on newegg, it's listing these cards as only supporting open GL 1.5...

is that wrong, or is Nvidia going backwards with thier hardware?
