Having the same issue lithian. Above 2557mhz it reboots. Burning in has helped a little though, can get 2.6ghz boots just about now

Using stock cooling? Im thinking with upgraded cooling maybe it will go away.

ive noticed all who are running the p4c800 e dlx like me hit a wall around 2.6 . ive just managed to put the vapo head on and still no gain . i could do 2,5 with the org cooler . anyone getting higher with a 730 on a p4c800 e dlx ? i to get reboots after 2,652 ghz no matter what ram or cooling

it gets unstable at 231 and above when the cpu is stressed.
1.64v made no differance.

This is very dissappointing. Im hoping we find a fix quick. I had high hopes for this cpu.
edit: As I recall, 1008 forced me to use the bios it had been set to when I flashed to it (except on a "system crashed due to OC'ing hit f1 to enter cmos" boot wherein it used 1.3v). So once I upgrade cooling I might just set to 1.55v or so, and flash back down to 1008 and see if that fixes my maxx overclock problem.

I do think 1008 has pentium M microcodes....

I have the P4C800-E DLX mobo, with the 1022.003 bios, and right now i am benching 3200mhz using an Overklokk modded Mach 2@-50 C.
The cpu is an M750 dothan and i am using Mushkin level II blach 3500 memorysticks..
Super PI is done in 24 sec (soon to be 23...) in 3d mark 01 i just pressed 36 000, with an unclocked X800XT PE ... This setup rocks bigtime.. Pictures will follow...
nice clocks there.Originally Posted by Eel

i would love 2 c how u mounted the prommie on2 the cpu without gettin condensationOriginally Posted by Eel
Same maxing issue with a P4P800-se as well. Maybe a little higher on the P4C, but not a massive amount.
Maybe the chips just hit a wall?

I'm almost embarassed to post this, as bad as my RAM is holding me back. I just can't get it to finish @ 2.5, so 3.0 it is:
This is under stock Vapo. Eventually will use the -85 cascade on it, but first, some 3DMarks...

just got an adapter, so son it will be P4C800 dlx + ct-479 + default cooling.... atm.... will notify on results. oh by the way... I have dothan 1.6@2.13 on asus Z7100Z notebook - they have jumper for 533FSB
Quad XF
one question... what is better for overclocking with ct-479? setting jumper on 400 or 533 FSB? does ir have any influence?
Quad XF
Mine clocks 5fsb better at 400setting.

Did some 3DMark01 testing on my Dothan @ 2.6Ghz (260x10)
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=8614821
Not bad for 300c / 700m, with 12 pipes ....needs OC'd now...
BTW. superpi 1MB at those settings is 27.813sec
Official ORB bottom feeder.
just got my dothan up and running. it does the 2.4 at stock volts.

I just ordered a Zalman ZM7000B-AlCu for my Asus-Dothan combo. I also ordered a 80w (16v) Peltier element to experiment with. As I don't have any previous experiences with TEC I'd like to ask something:
-I'll be taking power directly from my Enermax 485W 12v line, I think I have enough wattage overhead to spare. 2x HD, 2x DVD, R9700 and Dothan are the power-consuming components. Comments?
-With aforementioned power I think that the element is definitely enough for Dothan but do you think the heatsink can handle the load? If I've thought this correctly the combined thermal power of the peltier and CPU shouldn't rise much above 100 watts which is in Prescott region.
-Am I going to hit sub-zero temperature readings? What about condensation then?
-Any thermal greases needed?
Any other comments, tips and tricks related are welcome.

played yesterday a few minutes with 750 and stock cooler and i loved it....
standard xp (no sp) and no tweaks...just shutdown explorer and real time proccess priority....
then spend yesterday night and today in the morning getting all ready for phase change benching and bam!!! no post... trying to figure if i forgot any cable...nothing...all well connected....clearing all insulation again....
there was no condensation at all and no cracked chip....no nothing...just it does not post...but i don't know if it's the chip or the adaptor (board runs fine with some spare p4)...and i thought it was the best insulation i had ever done...and i ed it all...
i hope it can revive...so i can do some real superpi and also some 3dmarks...
anyway....GREAT cpu....!!!!!!

Check to make sure your not grounding out on the adaptor plug. (Top and Bottom of plug)
My guess would be if your rig isn't doing anything (no fans, no nothing) then you may be grounding out somewhere.
