Yes. Simply unscrew the bolts holding the fan, lift out the fan-housing, flip the bracket 180degrees and remount the fan.

Hi,

I am a little concerned about powering a rig using the ASUS adaper.
According to ASUS, the adapter provides power to the CPU. And I have seen posts from people who had to remove harddrives and such from the power lead that goes to the adapter. I've also seen people that had to remove their 6800 Ultras to get a decent overclock.

At the same time, I don't see anything from the pictures of that little adapter that suggests it could power some of the overclocks that people are doing...???

I guess my main concern is that I want to run my 6800 Ultra. And I have dual 12 volt rails on my power supply. One 12v rail just powers the motherboard (which usually includes the CPU), the other 12v rail powers everything else (including my 6800U). If I were to plug the adapter into a floppy connector, it would end up being on the same rail as my 6800U. I'm afraid both together might be too much for one rail...?

You're right. There are some people experiencing problems with dual rail PSUs.

I dont know much about it myself, but you might wanna search around. Maybe you could keep us updated here, then I'll add whatever info you come up with...

You can also use a 20k VR, but remember this mod is for the P4GD1 (or for boards using the same buck controller, RichTek RT9248A).

couple notes here...Zalman 7700 series uses different mounting mechanism, Zalman 7000 are adaptable to CT-479 NOT 7700.

Dothan/CT-479 does NOT like UTT ram including G.Skill GBGH and Redlines. I'm having best results with OLD bh-5 and MUSHKIN HiPerf PC4400 (tccd)

And I'm booting at 190, have agp locked (at least I think so) and have run 1:1 up to 250, 260 with BH5 and 4:5 run up to 210/260. PAT can be enabled with 875tweaker, am I missing anything by not booting at 201??
And the sub27s superPi at 2700mHz doesn't suck, either

OH! And one more ??, those who've done the Vcore mod, do you remove the wire mod from the socket?? And does anyone have a Vcore measuring pt for the P4C800E-Dlx?

No, the adapter does not power the CPU. It's pulling less than 0.1A on the 12V (less than 1.2W) line and isn't using the 5V rail at all (just disconnect the 5V rail and it's still working). If you're experience problems with dual rail PSU's, you can make an adapter that feeds the CT-479 throgh one of the fan connectors on your motherboard, remember not to use one of the temprature contrelled outputs.

I have understod that the PCI/PCI-E frequency can not be locked on P4GD1. Has this caused any problems for you, how much PCI-E overclocking can your X800XT handle? For example can you use FSB range 170-200Mhz?

And by the way, can you modify voltages with EIST in windows?

Disconect everything not needed hard drives ect. make sure ram is in correctly. remove the ct-479 / cpu and put back in.
set the clear cmos make sure the 12v connector is in and the power to the ct-479 and switch on. give it a little bit and switch off then set the clear cmos back to normal and try again. do you have a speaker connected to the mobo does it make any beeps ?
do you have another board you can hotflash the bios with in case of a bad flash ?
try another vga card.
