HA, the -65C should do it. Let me know how the air goes. I should have a pelt up and running on it in few days to help me out

Well my 730 struggles to do even 2.7 with very cold air.

Something is up here with the pin mods. Looks like its no coincidence that everyone is at 1.55v. I first did the pin mod for 1.596v, and I got a flat 1.55v, never drooped under load or nothin. Then went ahead and pin modded for 1.706 to see what that'd do. Again, a flat 1.55v. It seems like the mobo is stopping the startup voltage short at 1.55v for some odd reason, even though the VID is set for 1.6v and beyond...

Does the P4C800-E Deluxe have any trouble with vcore or vdimm? Someone I know can perform a mod for me if it would be nescesary.

What would this board need to perform good?

All you guys with satisfactorily running Dothan rigs, could you post some details on your rigs along with descriptions of your setup procedure?

    Would be the bomb!

    Board? (mods / no mods?)
    Bios? (flash method)
    CPU?
    Bios boot settings?
    Windows overclocking actions?
    Tools used?

Please add results as well - 1M and 3d01...
Then I'll start condensing actual OC results, to give people a better idea of what setups to go for. Would be nice with a more uniform impression of the average Dothan Powah!

Where can you find a P4GD1? There's nothing on froogle or ebay.

Btw just for the record, DRAM Latency Parameter 11 in the Tweaker is what's enabled if you boot in at 200 1:1, but you have no PCI/AGP lock then. At 201 and above, it's at 01. 11 takes off nearly 10MHz but in the long run seems worth it.

I dunno how it'll respond to higher vcores than 1.55v, but like I said earlier, the board won't allow it with simply pin mods. If you want to try more, you'd have to vcore mod. Probably would help on phase change or above. VDimm mod is a must if you're using BH5/UTT (best choice for this platform). Even below 230 2.85v doesn't cut it for the max aggressive timings.

It seems like voltage is the key here. I'd better get down to doing the vcore mod then. Wouldn't have expected 90nm mobile procs to need 1.7v on air to shine.

Interesting, but the Japanese guys running like 3400mHz++ are all like 1.65-1.70 right??

    Tried that. They're too high

One simply need brackets that are totally straight...

Im not much of an engineer, and I have massive respect for the bare naked core. Probably not many spare Vapo brackets laying around.

We need some kind of easy solution for all those 24/7 air users - I'll start searching around

Maybe a simple fan adapter might be the easiest. Definately not the most optimal, but easy indeed...

You are running at 1.8vcore? If so, how are you doing that?

Think they are as low as 1,6-1,65V. It's not much i gain in speed between 1,7-1,8V, but i need to fine tune to get the last MHz in Super PI.

I soldered a 50k VR to pin #8 from left to ground. Don't mind the wire on pin #1.

Ok, this is really, really, really pissing me off.

    SuperPI 1M at 2745. SuperPI 32M at 2672MHz. Prime95 for gods sake at 2620 for 10 hours.

3DMark won't even run at 2650?? WTF is going on here? I got some really high lobby and CH scores but it always exits to windows here and there, can never get a complete run. I thought if it superpied at 2745, 2700 should be a breeze for 3d, but it just isn't doing it.

Let's see... my SuperPI time... 1M ERR! 32M ERR!

At least you have your setup going! Still waiting on a new CT-479 (call me an eeediot!) and my OCZ VX. Looks like I won't be able to play until next week considering I'll be out of town Sunday through possibly Thursday. Booo!

Things are looking good though Guat. It's nice to see this amount of input flowing through this thread. Keep it up guys! (and gals if there are any)
