Ah, now I know. I was just gunner say whats the difference.

    Ive got a 1.6 Dothan 2mb 400fsb here atm which will be a B1 right ?

It overclocks ok anyways, 2700MHz on air apparently to the pervious owner iirc.

Just need a board for it. CT-479 coming in a few days

    yeah, 1.6ghz 400fsb chip (16 x 100) will do 16 x 150 easy... like 2400mHz... and with 1.5v, should do 160-165....for 2600-2700mHz.

    The pic is inadequate IMHO.

*edit - A procedure description for the mod in the pic would be nice.

The 725 is a 400MHz FSB, thus not a Sonoma...

You'll need the 7x0 CPUs to get 533 FSB.

Still awaiting my RMAed P4P800 SE so cant really help you with the other questions...

I'm in the same boat as Stryg. I got my rig started with the P4C800-E DLX and yanked my 3.06 out of my HP. Using some XMS and a FSP Blue Storm with a 9800 pro I get NO POST. I've done everything I can think of and read 4 forums for help, but it still isn't working. I know everything but the P4C works properly, but it could be a proprietary CPU on HPs behalf. I think the next step is to RMA the P4C.

Sorry Vano, no help from me either. GL though!

CT-479 arrived today. Its one very well engineered peice of kit.

You know the u-wire mod in the CT-479 socket, what voltage does that set the vcore at?

Waiting for my P4P800 SE to arrive, should be here friday

You can get up to somewhere around 1.72v via the pin mods IIRC. I think the highest you can get with a single u-wire is 1.6v.

FYI everyone... you can set the VID4 wire mod to get 1.55v and then you can use EIST in windows to lower Vcore, set to like 1.22v it gives real voltage of 1.44v. Something to keep in mind for when "not" benching...

I tryed from eist, systool but nothing. I cant find the option in bios either. I flashed two times my mobo from asus update proggram. i download the bios from asus site.

    All here:
a little easier, the VID4 to VSS mod makes like 1.55-1.59v, right? Now do VID2 to VSS and the two wires together will give about 1.65v...

Take VID4, VID2, VID1 and VID0 ALL to VSS and it should give 1.70-1.71v

Try Flashing with AFUDOS and use /NC /PBNC switches.
Ive had the same problem with two or three p4cs too. BIOS flash fixed it in every case.

As he said, its initial testing with stock vcore and heatsink.
