Ive got a 1.6 Dothan 2mb 400fsb here atm which will be a B1 right ?
It overclocks ok anyways, 2700MHz on air apparently to the pervious owner iirc.
Just need a board for it. CT-479 coming in a few days![]()
yeah, 1.6ghz 400fsb chip (16 x 100) will do 16 x 150 easy... like 2400mHz... and with 1.5v, should do 160-165....for 2600-2700mHz.

Im not much of a modder myself, but do you guys consider this pic to be adequately clear?Originally Posted by micdoc

The pic is inadequate IMHO.Originally Posted by stryg
*edit - A procedure description for the mod in the pic would be nice.

can we get a conclousion on which board is best ? which allows vcore ?which biose ?what overclocks best ?and which one has ddr vcore adjustments ?and ias i see it the 725 cpu is a sonama 533 fsb which would be a better chioce right?

The 725 is a 400MHz FSB, thus not a Sonoma...Originally Posted by vanovich
You'll need the 7x0 CPUs to get 533 FSB.
Still awaiting my RMAed P4P800 SE so cant really help you with the other questions...
i think this picture for Vcore mod for P4C800 is ok .Originally Posted by PseudosaneX

I'm in the same boat as Stryg. I got my rig started with the P4C800-E DLX and yanked my 3.06 out of my HP. Using some XMS and a FSP Blue Storm with a 9800 pro I get NO POST. I've done everything I can think of and read 4 forums for help, but it still isn't working. I know everything but the P4C works properly, but it could be a proprietary CPU on HPs behalf. I think the next step is to RMA the P4C.Originally Posted by vanovich
Sorry Vano, no help from me either. GL though!
CT-479 arrived today. Its one very well engineered peice of kit.
You know the u-wire mod in the CT-479 socket, what voltage does that set the vcore at?
Waiting for my P4P800 SE to arrive, should be here friday![]()
You can get up to somewhere around 1.72v via the pin mods IIRC. I think the highest you can get with a single u-wire is 1.6v.
FYI everyone... you can set the VID4 wire mod to get 1.55v and then you can use EIST in windows to lower Vcore, set to like 1.22v it gives real voltage of 1.44v. Something to keep in mind for when "not" benching...

guys i have just bought my new bench rig. P4c800-e deluxe , Dothan 750 (1,86) and of course the adapter. But i am having a problem. I cant change the multi. By default it is 6. I tryed from eist, systool but nothing. I cant find the option in bios either. I flashed two times my mobo from asus update proggram. i download the bios from asus site.
What do u suggest?
I'd like to hear more about this, details, pics, proof of concept.![]()

a little easier, the VID4 to VSS mod makes like 1.55-1.59v, right? Now do VID2 to VSS and the two wires together will give about 1.65v...
Take VID4, VID2, VID1 and VID0 ALL to VSS and it should give 1.70-1.71v

Im a little busy with exams and stuff right now, but rest asured I'll do some heavy updating on this thread the upcoming weekend.
Nice info charlie!
charlie take a look at my post... do u suggest anythin?
Try Flashing with AFUDOS and use /NC /PBNC switches.
Ive had the same problem with two or three p4cs too. BIOS flash fixed it in every case.
thanks for the quick reply bro![]()
And THEN use EIST to lower teh Vcore in windows... if neccessaryOriginally Posted by charlie
i tried the u wire mod for 1.65volts but but the bios only siad 1.6volts was highest after the mod.Originally Posted by charlie

Also, taking your running a 740? Is that the max FSB you can hit?
