These winbond chips are getting harder and harder to get. A lot of other companies are trying to buy them up so winbond is limiting their release of these parts. thus prices has been increasing as demand increase.

I was lucky enough to get in an order while they were still $255, but not lucky enough to get in an order before they went out of stock

I guess I'll have them next Wednesday... patience is not one of my strongest virtues... but the warning about drop shipments on Directron.com worries me.

Oh man, that's awesome. I wanted to do that, but didn't dare. Oh well. Shipping from Mushkin was significantly cheaper, so the difference in price isn't as big as it otherwise would be. Still, I'm super jealous...

    Has anyone read this?

Mushkin's flagship is the Redline Extreme Performance series. Utilizing UTT chips specially chosen for their "beyond BH-5" performance, these chips are currently holding some of the tightest latencies ever seen at such high frequencies. Contrary to popular misconceptions they are not dependent upon excessive amounts of voltage for their exceptional performance. I've been living with both UTT based Redline parts now for one month and have not had the need to surpass 3.3v. in most tests performance deteriorated as voltage surpassed 3.3V. Featuring chips based on a Winbond revision UTT IC's out-perform both Samsung TCCD, and Winbond's own BH-5 parts.

    From this review here http://www.madshrimps.be/?action=get...01&articID=290

Also I'm having to RMA mine since one just like died after a reboot, and I asked him what chips. He is saying they are Windbond UTT chips. How do they compare to BH-5?

I like the way they don't think 3.3v is excessive, when only DFI boards can actually go that high natively.

As for the $113 price... they don't *have* to honor it. Most websites these days have policies posted that they are not responsible for typos in pricing. Many places honor the prices just to keep customers from getting pissed off... but really, something like that is obviously a mistake, and I wouldn't blame them if they wouldn't let you get the stuff at that price.

man...so far I see quite a few people needed to RMA their sticks, I wonder if this is the DFI mobo's fault, or defective ram.
