    Talking [Socket 754] MULTI-record (SuperPI 1M 26.922s - Pifast 37.72 - Screen 3409MHz)

    Today we did a Dry-ice run with a Socket 754 3700+ clawhammer which allready did 3137pifast on a prommy Mach1 @ R507 .

    The hardware used:

    -DFI Lanparty UT NF3 250
    -OCZ DDR booster
    -OCZ 256MB and Mushkin 256MB (OLD bH-5)
    -PCPower&Cooling 510w sli psu

And last but not least the 3700+ clawhammer S754

    Pifast Socket 754 (WR?)

    Validation:
    http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=16585

    SuperPi 1M Socket 754 (WR?)

    Validation:
    http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=16585

    SuperPi 8M Socket 754

    Validation:
    http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc?id=16589

    Highest Socket 754 validation

    Full Validation:

    And some pics:

The Home made container and holddown mounted on the board

Checking the contact. It's ok . Insulation ring greased up with vaseline to creat an airtight seal. This worked great. We did a 4hour run without any condensation problems!!

Neoprene on the board (greased up).

Springs were VERY tight . The extra plate on the backside made the total assembly stiffer so the boards doesn't bend under the extreme stress.

3.9v on the mem. 4.0v has been used allso but didn't help.

Picture after the 4 hour straight run

Container on a artificial load (movie will be online soon!!)

Tnx to The Doctor who polished the container and helped me on the run

Dang guys, very fine work I for one can appreciate how hard that must have been, since I was playing with DryIce+3700+DFI-nF3 yesterday too though sadly I couldn't get as high. What stepping/week is your 3700+? What core voltage? IHS on/off? Loaded temps?

Sorry for so many questions, hehe, but I am very intersted in your answer

    Well done fellas

We made a movie of the superpi 1M run. You can clearly see the temps rise .

Great job, who would have guessed S754 being that fast... on the other hand, dual channel doesn't give you that much.

    Nice WR

Hehe, funny watching those temps rise and rise The video stopped at -55C, did temps continue rising after that?
And what was core voltage for those speeds?

Your stepping is VERY close to mine (CAAZC 0441DPMW). I don't know what my temps were since I have no temp-probe, and I don't trust BIOS --- actually I don't WANT to believe the BIOS It said my temps were -38C to -43C at stock volts, -28C to -33C at 1.9v+ I'm really hoping that's not reading correctly.

My max 3D was 3207mhz with 1.92v, I ran a Super Pi at 3240mhz with 1.92-1.95v, but crap mem speed so not good score. Suicide screeny at 3331mhz. My mem is not very good, I can't seem to go above 270mhz at all and I get boot problems at high vdimm (3.6-3.7v). Most times the board just won't boot up even though fans come on, no video display.

-55c was the end of the run after that the temps went down pretty quick.
Epsilons board didnt boot at 3.6+ vdimm either just boot and turn the vdimm up right after the boot.

So adjust PSU 3.3 rail after powering on? Isn't that risky?

Well we used a OCZ DDR Booster

But adjusting the 3.3 rail is ok though. The PSU most likely is protected. My enermax 465w stops at 3.75v at the 3.3v line. Above that value, it just shuts off. I didn't wanted to mod my PCP&C PSU because it is new and expensive . So I bought a DDR Booster.

If you raise the voltage slow it will not matter. The board can handle it. Within a second The Doctor (accidently) lowered the voltage of the DDR booster by 0.5v (single turn pot isn't a good idea, they should definately take that into reconsideration). The system crashed but everything lived. So if you use a multiturn pot on the Vsense line of your PSU, you can not kill anything unless you use an electrical screwdriver to turn the pot ^_^
