Me beeing a dumass![]()
I'm having graphical glitches when overclocking my CPU which I didn't have before. These graphical glitches only show up in games. I used this tweak program and changed my DRAM Latency Parameter from 00 to 01 and that fixed my problem completely.
Now my question is, is there any way to hack the registry or bios to keep that 01 setting always without having to change the timing each and every single reboot.
Oh yeah I forgot my basic system specs
ASUS P4P800SE, INTEL 3.0C
KINGSTON PC3200UL HYPERX
WD 10,000RPM 74Gb raptor
Nvidia 6800GT, Audigy2
OCZ 520watt Powerstream PSU
My preference would be a modded bios to flash into my system but I don't know how to mod a bois especially to figure out how to find and change that one setting. The next best option I could think of would be a registry hack. What I am doing now is I have that I865/I875 tweaker program in my startup folder so every single time I reboot it starts and I have to change the timing manually before I play games or else I get graphical glitches.

You migth be abel to make it an outo start up file.
Or maybe you could tell us what mobo You have.
The AI7 I use with BH-5, has good timings already, I got it at 2226 F1 S 3 D D
The tweaker, the only thing that made 0.5% improvement was changing RMS from 7.8us to 64us
I totally don't understand that, shouldn't 64us be slower than 7.8us?
Nothing else gave me any improvement at all. changing CAS 2 to other (11) gave me a huge boost, but the ctiaw locked up right afterwards.
Of course 64us is better, the longer the DRAM refresh interval is, the more (time) the memory is available for transactions. Isn't it better to have a refresh cycle at 64us than 7.8us ?

Place the program in the startup folder, loads automatically, but...
I need to know how to make it set the DRAM Latency Parameter to 01 automatically, then exit.
So I don't have to do this manually everytime I reboot. This 01 setting fixes graphical glitchs on the i865 chipset.
Help please, I will be very thankful.
I have been using a Hex Editor on the program, I was able to change the 00 to 01, but it had no effect. Seem that I can only edit the text within the program.
The SAVE button function does not work, it only outputs a txt file. I don't understand this.

Does it work with the pentium-m + CT-479?
Cannot see why not. The tweaker is for the chipset/mem only, not the cpu.Originally Posted by Kjaks

Is it possible to run it in ghost mode like clockgen? and load Tweaker and the save.txt file, then exit?
Im trying, but I don't know what I am doing here.
ok, think I have it figured out now, place in startup folder with "C:\Program Files\Tw865\Tw865.exe" -file=tw865.txt
appears to be working. No more 865 glitchs

yes it does work with it. I had to use it since the bios sets the timings to 2.5-3-3-6 for my ram even when i have manually set it to 3-4-4-8. I cant disable pat unless i use this proggy.Originally Posted by Kjaks

Just want to say thanks to the writer of this great program. Without it my Dothan overclock would be limited. Great work CPUOverclock. This progie realy makes my day can go up to 2880 with my 730-pm and Pat enabled![]()

with what fsb-dram settings and clocks?Originally Posted by railer
if you boot above 201fsb you have pat only partially enabled - cpu-z shows
it as "enabled", but it's not fully so. check that with the ctiaw tool. it will
show just that. if you boot with less than 200 mhz fsb, you should indeed
have pat fully enabled (or if you boot with dram >250mhz)...

i boot @ 200 so i have pat enabled. I use Nvidia card so my PCI/AGP is locked
Then i just up the fsb with clockgen. I just posted few screens in oveclocking thread. Going to go play with this beast some more.
Question here what is the least agressive Dram latancy parameter? I have it 00. Just want to see what max the cpu will do without rellying on the mem to be stable

actually it is 200 and up with pat partially on. just check it with ctiaw... anyway
01 should be best regarding lax timings. might even set tras max to 120µs did
get me above 306 mhz fsb![]()

00 and 01 are. 11 is really CPU speed killing!Originally Posted by railer

Yes
I have virtually the same setup, and i cannot get my 3.2 Northwood past 225mhz FSB stable, Prime always fails at one point or another.Originally Posted by Eastcoasthandle
I tried this little prog, it's neat. I'm more old school though. Bios screen and a notebook. I document my settings and my changes. Here is system info currently. I'll be watercooling this cpu in hopes of reaching a higher clock speed. I have been able to post @ 3.8ghz with this chip but then it fails to load windows. And the temps are really high also due to the higher voltages
