    ok first question yes i had his down to super cold unloaded temps but that was to just show how cold it can get unloaded.but if i left it like that it would run no better than the old prommie when loaded.

    the second question is who's prommie are you looking at?
    well since OPP's came to me broke i could never actually see how well a stock one proforms.this is another one i have in bowmans mod shop LOL..IT belongs to TheDude......hey dude its here...

    i am moding this one for TheDude and this one i will be doing some different mods.like adding cap and r404 chage over and what ever else POP's can think of.....

    I just logged on to check shipping to see where she was! Glad it got there in one piece! Hell of a difference between loaded and unloaded!

    It's not just the change in refrigerant that makes the difference. Two identical systems with identical refrigerants can have significant differences in performance.

    Making it work is easy. Fine tuning it is an art form.

    Bowman's work is indeed impressive.

    I think someone said 10 degrees. I'm sure its in the thread somewhere though. I'd suggest reading it as it is quite informative. I wouldnt skip info like the stuff in this thread when considering messing with an already expensive unit.... not a softmod or bridgetrick you know

    Yeah, I read the whole thing. What interest's me is the gain of the gas only idle & loaded Vs gas + optimised capillary tube idle & loaded.

    Let's not forget the condenser airflow, suction/liquid heat exchange, insulation, block design, chip/block interface, optimum refrigerant charge, etc., etc., etc.

    There are a great many very important variables. It's much more involved than just gas and cap tube. It's all balances and trade-offs.

    Hmmm, i hoped to see a post from bowman1964 on his progress with the machine from TheDude.
    But i guess i'll have to wait until he does. (tracking enabled with this post.)

    I'm still really impressed by the work he's done on OPP's prom.

    Not only that, but TheDude's modded prommy went from Bowman1964 to TheDude to 2fast4u to me Still running strong. It takes only 3-4 minutes to Er 5 unloaded.

    It needs a little TLC right now, nothing major but re-insulation is the most important.
