    them 3700's should be some nice CPU's.
    affordable, if at 2.2 ghz only with a 1 meg cache.
    not bad

    after all, 11x300 isn't too hard to get with a DFI and some good TCCD... oh yeah, and some serious cooling of course, but still... more affordable then a FX55 atleast.

    reason i didn't pre-order a venice or san diego is with amd bringing opto's 6 4-5 months forward for release, sorry dual core opto's, that means dual core desktops can be made also as they are the same chips less one pin and minimally altered mem controller if at all.

    release for desktop dual cpu's is supposed to be today now as i expected same as optos. supposed prices are $550 for a 1mb total cache 2.2Ghz and $580 for the 2mb total cache 2.2Ghz, i suspect the first price is very wrong, and is probo gonna be a good deal cheaper and with 2.2ghz base speed, overclocked will be fine for gaming now, and over the next year clock speeds will barely rise, but apps supporting multithreads will become very mainstream so the chip will essentially get faster over the next year. bit more than i wanted to spend but will in 6 months to a year be way faster than a 3700 san diego. thats my choice

    for a $340 cpu, this is kickass.

    Probably do around 2.8-2.9ghz on air @ 1.6v?

    Yes , this chips performs and overclocks a little better than my FX55 !!
    Same improvements than Newcastle->Winchesters.
    Better in superpi, CpuMark, Games ....Everywhere; not a huge but better.
    All i can say is "FX55 owners, you can sell yours babies now, it will be hard soon"
    Mine is already sold

    the results arnt revolutionary, but to be hoenst for air overclockers they are, the majority of people dont use phase or chilled water 24/7 so its deff an improvement
