True, alot on aircooling, including myself. The jump from a 3800 to a 4000 is probably around 200 dollars though.

And to the fella who asked, yea I'm getting the 3200 for the 10x multi, b/c I figure perhaps I could get lucky and get one that goes near 3ghz. If not no biggie, not that big of a price jump. Would rather have the option to be at 10, and drop down to 9 if need be to be around 300htt, rather than not having the option.

Way too expensive and doubtfull they have them. Monarch will be much cheaper. Supposedly the next week. Unistar-Sparco has 3200 now for $200 according to the web site. If you know how to do this you can order it from Staples (you need IM catalog number though).
This is all not reliable. Only newegg and monarch can give you warranties on the exact core they sell. All these other stores are not reliable. A week more and we'll have them.
I can't wait to dispose off my CBBID, getting sick of the sucker already. My old TPAW a hell of a lot better. Hope my new Venice will do 2.8+.

You know, none of these sites ever manage to get new more than a week earlier than Newegg, and a great deal of them have terrible service if you ever want to RMA.

    Totally OT:

Rzone, you have a 240Z also? I love mine.

monarch is selling oem 3000+ winchesters for 127 in a "10 hour sale"
I wonder if they've got the venice chips in and are just clearing out the winchesters?

That is an excellent price for a budget system.

Hopefully this is a sign that Venice is soon to come.

Harold over at Bottom Line Telecommunications got back with me regarding Venice availability - their Distributor has them available at the Warehouse for order...Expect between a week to 10 days for the order to process through their Distro before it ships...so about 2 weeks to have the part in hand...just a matter of whether you're willing to bet that the more mainstream E-tailers won't be able to get it to your door sooner/sell out before your order gets processed

Edit - Like someone else mentioned however, by ordering through a company like this return/rma service *MAY* be more complicated and annoying than something like Newegg, Monarch, ZZF, etc. that are more used to dealing with consumer level (as opposed to business level) returns/expectations...we tend to be more picky and anxious than business are

I hate Monarch they sent me a used, broken Max3 which was advertised as new. I took many pictures of it so that I could post them on XS. Beware of Monarch!!! Newegg has always rocked I'd stick with them.

I agree, but there seems to be five resellers (via froogle) listing ADA3500DAA4BN, oem and retail box. Isn't BN definitely san diego? I wonder where they got this part number from.

Had no problem with monarch, so far, but it is true, newegg customer service cannot be beat. The trouble are their prices, recently they are not exactly the cheapest.

I would disagree with that statement, I recently picked up a MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum, 1GB kit Geil PC4000, eVGA GF 6800GT, and a WD Raptor 74GB. Of these items, Newegg was cheapest on the RAM and the videocard, Chiefvalue (which most people think is part of Newegg) was cheapest on the HDD, and ZZF was cheapest on the mobo. So, out of 4 parts, 3 of the 4 were cheapest on Newegg or Chiefvalue. Only 1 was cheaper on ZZF.

However, for smaller ticket items, Newegg will try to rip you off. They tried to sell me a tube of AS5 for $11 + $2 S/H that was available at SVC for $6 + free S/H.

BP corresponds to a physical 512KB L2 cache, and BN corresponds to a physical 1MB L2 cache. This implies that the ADA3500BNBOX/ADA3500DAA4BN may be a 512KB San Diego at 2.2GHz. Also, the 3700+ that is listed may be a 1MB San Diego at 2.2GHz. Note the FX-55 is also listed as a San Diego.

LOL, if this is the case, we'll have ClawHammer, Newcastle, Winchester, Venice and San Diego based Athlon 64 3500+'s

My guess on this issue is that these retailers all use the same Distributor (see my earlier, lengthy post on the Distrabution process and why it's holding back Venice chips for more info). Their Distro has apparantly cleared enough Winchester stock to offer the Venice parts to these Retailers. In a recent catalog update (probably updated weekly/bi-weekly) they posted the Venice PN's as being in stock, ready to ship upon request. The Distributor most likely made an error listing the 3500+'s with the "BN" instead of the "BP". These retailers simply have data entry people that just cut/paste into their own databases. The DE personel don't know anything about CPUs or their respective PN's and simply typed out what their Distro sent them.

That's my best bet as to why "BN" 3500+'s are showing up
