i seemed to have made a mistake somewhere with the pinmod.

my chip originally defaulted to 1.296v, i tried the pinmod vid4 to vss, now i have 1.46v showing up in the bios and in cpu-z. shouldnt it be closer to 1.6v?

    my setup right now is

    1.7ghz dothan
    aopen 855gme
    512mb tccd
    ti-4200

    using stock cooler

    priming at the moment at 2.7ghz (17x159), 2.8ghz superpi 1m stable @ 1.46v

    using 3:4 divider so tccd currently @ 212mhz 2.5-3-3-7

    That's because you're using a 533 Busspeed Dothan
BTW where the hell you got that board?

The defaulted Vcore for a dothan chip (400 busspeed) is 1.34V
    Do you have a 400Mhz or a 533Mhz CPU?

I also had Vcore fluctuations. I seems not to get stable.
When I wiretricked it to 1.66V sometimes i only get 1.58V

i know, but does that make it not a world record(???) if it is? ....it's not like a new P4 or A64 beats an older 3D bench score because they have higher or better architecture ...it's like saying the 6800s SLI WR is not a valid WR because it beats older 9800s ....

i got it from a friend, on loan, since he can't OC it ...

it should be a dothan 400mhz cpu.

the funny thing is that i had a feeling something was a bit awkward when i kept seeing people's cpu-z default voltage higher than mine. But 1.296 is what the bios is saying and it wont let me go any higher.

edit: i started screwing around more. did vid4 to vss, vid2 to vss, vid3 to vss - now i got 1.58v or 1.59v showing up.

You should get 1.66V with vid2/vid4 connected to vss.
I also got fluctuations from 1.58-1.68 with wiretrick on 1.66V.
I don't think it's only you, someone who has a DFI also got this fluctuations. Nothing you can do about

just finished benching at 200FSB, wheeeeee...P95 stable for ~6hrs, Spi anti-cheat 1M run (while p95 is running *lol*) and temp never breaking 44c at full load...

I also have a 200Mhz fsb shot, the max fsb really depends on your cpu

I don't think so, i had two 755s, the first reached only 180Mhz, and the second 200Mhz (lowered multi, so not a max frequency issue), I didn't change anything on the mobo between the both tests...

Maybe you got a dothan that wasn't good enough for a 533 busspeed dothan . I was convinced that everyone that has a 400Mhz dothan can't get across 180 .
    Nontheless a good achievement

Oh common, you can do better that this (with you fancy cascade)
    Where's the 20 x 200Mhz screenshot

my cascade is not fancy :o only crappy this ****ing CO2 always clogs my evap

but what i meant is on air, stock everything (cooling, vCore, vDimm, totally unmodded board) =)...mine runs on air and stock everything =)...so i was shooting for a WR on that category not on uber leet heavily modded board with extreme cooling

    and nate's 533Mhz dothan didn't past 170FSB as well: http://forums.legitreviews.com/viewt...33aab53493b2d5

    and that's with a vcore pin modded Dothan@1.6v =)...

Tyrou, yep, here's my old post (quoted *lol*) so I'm just thinking if I should brag about it hahaha....i "bold" my mention of stock everything ...

    Here's a validation link: http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=11072

This system is on-loan, so if I hit WR, maybe I can extend playing with the baby

btw, on stock cooling, non-modded mobo, stock vCore and vDimm..

oh yes you should, that's the highest fsb i've ever seen on i855 chipset, having it done only with aircoolint and stock mobo is better

i tried the vdimm mod, pin6 50k trimmer to pin4. the highest i can get my vdimm to is 3.31v. Is this correct?

because im wondering how lardarse's friend or lardarse(can't remember who) pumped 3.9v into their bh5's.

I think you have an Aopen.
If so there are 2 ways to reach 3.3V+

    1) Use an OCZ booster -> the downside is that you can only use 1 dimm. Or benching this is not a problem. Cause with one stick I reach higher FSB than 2 dimm's together. Although they can reach the higher FSB each seperately .
    2) Mod your PSU if yours allow it (if you have a Vsense cable on the 3.3V line (normaly it's an orange cable)=> for more explanation search the Hell-fire's PSU mod on the forum), cause the Vdimm is juiced with the 3.3V-rail.
If you mod the PSU and set the VR of PSU on 3.9V, you can can adjust your Vdimm with the VR of your Vdimm mod
Some PSU already have VR's to set the Voltages, eg OCZ powerstream line

    I hope your modding

thanks vegeta, i have a fortron 530w w/ adjustable pots coming tomorrow. right now im using a antec 300w psu

this is what i believe so far with my setup.

    with my 1.7ghz dothan

chip maxes out at 2.85ghz, primestable at 2.75ghz. i think it would prime higher if i changed coolers.

my bh5 using 3.3v at the moment maxes out at 255mhz.

so far my best superpi1m is 30s

I dunno how your dothan will oc.

These are the result i got with a 1.5 Dothan. Not too shabby huh (and all this on aircooling )
Unfortunately, i sold that setup. And bought myself the Alviso board. I kinda regret that I sold my previous board

Hi, I tried the pin-mod again (board back from rma), but it says 1,360 V instead of 1,6 V. I did the mod right.
