Hey everyone,
I just bought 2x 1Gb PC3200 Hynix stick of ram (D43 chips). Previously I had 2x 512mb GEIL PC4000 working fine with HTT up to 400 and cpu up to 2.6ghz. For some reason with this new ram, my board will not boot with any HTT over about 250mhz. This is probably because the ram is starting to go out of spec as it is being overclocked.
My main problem is no bios that I have tried will let me use any memory dividers but the 200mhz and 166mhz one! Idealy I want to be able to run my CPU at 2.4Ghz with my ram at 200mhz using a divider. If I select any memory divider but 200mhz (1:1) or 166mhz (3:4) the board will hang just before it is supposed to load windows.
Now the funny thing is by using clockgen and A64 tweaker I can use all the dividers in Windows. So why won't it work if it is set in the BIOS?
So does anyone know what the problem could be or offer any remodies?
Thanks
Dan.
Specs on the system:
CPU: Winchester 3000+
RAM: 2x 1Gb Hynix DDR400 (running at 3-3-3-8 DC)
MOBO: DFI NF4 Ultra D
VIDEO: 256mb HIS Radeon X700PRO VIVO
HDD: 250Gb Seagate SATA
PSU: Antec 380W Truepower (whatever comes with Sanata)
Remember, before I got this ram I had cpu happily at 2.5ghz, my ram at 250mhz and my htt at anything really (usually sat between 300 and 400).
