the newer the chips are kinde like more voltage, but from rev 431 and on they are great.
best ones in 2x256mb are the g. skill le
best ones for 2x512mb are the g.skill la
thats what opb told me, good luck with the memos

I think you got that mixed up... OPB has stated that you should get 512mb of LE and 256mb of LA cause the 512mb LA is @ 2t...Originally Posted by metro_oc.cl

They on the same PCB?Originally Posted by Dumo
That's true, but you can get lucky and some of the 1GB LA's run 300 @ 1T just fine. I know mine do ... I put my pair in my friends DFI and it hit 300 2.5-4-3-7 1T first try, Memtest and Prime stable for several hours. Now all I need to do is get that DFI board myself.Originally Posted by J-Mag

what kinda proc was your friend using? FX, NC, Winchester?Originally Posted by Orthogonal
Anway, it seems that cooling has a major role in stable mem clocks and I am talking about cooling on the CPU itself...
I can hit 320mhz on my TCCD, but there is NO WAY it is even close to stable... I can bust out sandra but thats about it...

For 512x2 LE is the best, for 256x2, LA is the best.
I would like to see some of the LF in action though... I haven't even seen it for sale anywhere yet...
I've had many sets of TCCD, here's a summary:
set1:
2x512mb OCZ rev2, 1 stick does 320 2,5-3-3-7 1T @ 3.1V the other one does a very dissapointing 270 same timings/voltage.![]()
Most likely these were 431 chips. (sold)
set2:
Gskill 1GBLE 0437, 1 stick does 300 2,5-3-3-7 1T @2.8V the other one throws a few errors now and then in memtest at 275. (RMA'd)
set3:
Gskill 1GBLE 0431, 1 stick does 300 2,5-3-3-7 1T @3.0V the other one gives one error every test at the same address all the time (RMA'd)
set4:
Gskill 1GBLE 0437, 1 stick gives an occasional error at 275 2,5-3-3-7 1T at any voltage between 2.6 an 2.9V the other stick throws hundereds of errors at 275 2,5-3-3-7 1T (RMA'd)
set5:
Gskill 1GBLE 0440, 1 stick does 300 2,5-3-3-7 1T @2.8V the other one does 305 same volts and timings.![]()
No need to RMA this set.
So, i don't think you have to look for the magic 0437 chips TBH.![]()
