    Post your WORKING timings and voltages for DFI NF4 Ultra-D and SLI

    Ok guys, we need some help here:

    Please post up you timings, maximum speeds and voltages, along with the memory your are running AND your CPU type (Winchester, Northwood, Clawhammer (FX series, 4000+))

    Too many people are struggling with these boards and having a database they can go to for timings would be awsome. I am sure many RMA's can be avoided on both the board and memory. This is one of the toughest boards I have seen over the last 7 years I have been overclocking. I also can kick more a** than any I have seen, when properly tweaked and dialed in.

    All the other DFI threads are too long and have too much BS in them to actually go through for help with timings. Please keep this short and to the point. For discussion please use one of the other DFI threads.

    Lets get at it! It will make all of our lives easier.

    Shot 1:
    DFI NF4, Clawhammer (FX55, FX53, 4000+) 130nm and OCZ VX memory

    Refresh Rate (Tref) = 4078 in BIOS

    Drive Strength Level = 6
    Data Strength Level = 4

    In Genie BIOS Setting:
    CPU StartUP Value = 1.500v
    CPU VID Control = 1.55-1.6v
    CPU VID Special Control = AUTO
    LDT = 1.3v
    Chipset Voltage = 1.70v
    Dram Voltage = 3.40v (always use less if possible)

    Any settings not shown just leave at default or AUTO

    Shot 2:
    DFI NF4, Winchester 90nm and OCZ VX memory
    CAS 2 may work best

    Refresh Rate (Tref) = 3072 in BIOS (4708/166 1.95us will cause thousands of errors)

    Drive Strength Level = 6
    Data Strength Level = 4

    In Genie BIOS Setting:
    CPU StartUP Value = 1.500v
    CPU VID Control = 1.50-1.55v
    CPU VID Special Control = AUTO
    LDT = 1.3v
    Chipset Voltage = 1.70v
    Dram Voltage = 3.40v (always use less if possible)

    Any settings not shown just leave at default or AUTO

    Shot 3:
    DFI NF4, Newcastle 130nm and OCZ VX memory

    Refresh Rate (Tref) = 3072 in BIOS (4708/166 1.95us will cause thousands of errors)

    Drive Strength Level = 6
    Data Strength Level = 4

    In Genie BIOS Setting:
    CPU StartUP Value = 1.500v
    CPU VID Control = 1.55-1.6v
    CPU VID Special Control = AUTO
    LDT = 1.3v
    Chipset Voltage = 1.70v
    Dram Voltage = 3.40v (always use less if possible)

    Any settings not shown just leave at default or AUTO

    yeah the threads in the amd section are completely messy and chaotic...

    will work on that matter after cebit though, i promise! ^^

    I think this is simple and easy to understand for those who have DFI NF4.

    OK this is for GSkill LE 2x512 at 290 with BIOS 3.10, FX 55
    (it'll do 300 happily at these settings but my CPU won't do 3GHz stable, at least on water)

    Apart from the alpha timings, the infamous tref value was the key to getting something stable.
    For my FX55 tref of 0516 is optimal. Took a bit of playing around to find that. The 1.95 us ones give decent bandwidth but several errors on Memtest!

    When I found a stable one, increasing the value of tref in the group of 4 (eg the 15.6us ones) increased performance slightly . I get the following on Everest and SPi 32 MB

    tref 0388 latency 37.7 wr bw 2922 r bw 7857 SPi 25.49
    tref 0516 37.4 3180 8004 25.44

    tref 0648 gives errors in memtest test 8

    Nice job Eva.

    Have you tried my trick of setting 1.35-145v VID and using 123% or so Special VID? This has helo Winchesters overclock MUCH better. You are already ding OK I see. Give it a whirl.

    I think you have that Clawhammer 3500 right?
