    Thumbs up Zalman 8000A

    What the hell is this?

"Zalman, admits the CNPS8000A of the CeBIT05 by quiet and reliable CPU radiators, shows to the successor of the 7000er-Serie. This sets from now on however no more on a ever more largely becoming exhaust, but looks for the way upward. The exhaust blocked in the CNPS8000A finds for the first time in vertical instead of horizontal adjustment place. In addition it is blocked inside the completely round cooling framework. For better conception Zalman platziert specially an open version apart from the sales variant. When and at which price the model into the trade comes is at present not yet well-known."

i would have liked to have seen a centrifugal based fan in there instead of a normal fan. though it would have been similar to gigabyte's coolers, i think for that cooler style, a squirrel cage would be better.

though.. 14 heatpipes. this should be a pretty damn good cooler once someone takes out that puny fan and points a sunon at it
Got a fan over those memory sticks? No? Well get to it before you kill them

Wow, that thing looks nasty awesome. I don't really like the top of it though, I like seeing fans when I look at my CPU cooler. Other then that, that thing must perform very good.

I'm guessing that it doesn't have all its fins installed. Its to show where I fan is, thats what I'm thinking anyway

I bet it'll be quite expensive, there is alot on material there.
That fan solution is crazy though.. I wonder how effective it really is?

Lots of surface area = good.
    Good heat distribution = good
    that fan? = bad.
I would prefer some sort of blower fan, sucking air in from the top/bottom and pushing out through all the fins.

looks like there's some sort of mounting bracket that attaches to the top and bottom of the heatsink.

Something similar to the shape of a vacuum cleaners beater brush should do it.

Yeah, a squirrel cage fan should do the job much better.

Intresting design. It's seems like a cheap cooler with so many heatpipes. wonder when will see any reviews of it. But I think i will go with the Vapochill mikro.
