Question Winnie still plagued by cold bug?

Was trying to decide what proc to get for my coming SLI-DR - I'll be using my Vapochill LS and I don't want to deal with the same issues I had with subzero cooling on my Abit AV8 (otherwise great AGP board IMHO).

But, don't have the cash for an FX, and would rather get like a 3000+ until the Rev. E A64's show their heads (i.e. the SSE3 enabled chips) - will this work? Anyone subzero cooling a Winnie on an NF4 board?

ive heard rumors tho that its just a MSI neo2 issue

and ive seen people with vapo LSs run 3.1-3.2ghz winchesters on other mobos

can you see the light? is it shining too bright? can you see the light at the end of the tunnel, i know i do, i know its true.

I 'd w8 a few days till ppl with DFI mobos say how it is. If it's also gonna have issues I 'd go 4 a used winnie that was tested on PC or 3500+ NC.

I had seen evidence that it was purely a mobo issue as well . . . hopefully someone in the next few days will be kind enough to test this combo

As far as the NC's go - what steppings are currently hot, and where are peeps getting them? If I go with a 3500+, might as well get the best

Seems not to be. My Winnie works fine on the Neo2 but locks up on the K8NXP-SLI under -40C. Works in the bios for ever but only lasts about 10 seconds in windows. Hopefully the DFI board won't suffer from this.

i started a database thread about winnie stepping that do and don't work.

CBBFD 0442 RPGW Does not work at subzero. i think i'll be picking up a newcastle tomorrow from tigerdirect. don't want to wait for newegg shipping.... and i can also handpick, but it doesn't seem like there is a hot newcastle stepping.
